My buddy just calls me up and is like "Yo, you ever raced an SS", "I'm like no but I will" anyways he is telling me about this guy he knows with an SS camaro who does not know ho to use his nos, sd he hits it outta the hole in first gear, I told him as far as I know depending on what kind of system you have you hit it in 2nd gear when you get in the powerband. Anyways, I am thinking wtf why not race, maybe he hits it in first, spins to no end and I can take him. Really I am trying to find out, is this right, you dont hit the juice in first gear do ya?

MattB is the only I know for sure, and he Leaves on nitrous at 5K on slicks in...........1st gear, so I guess it still works in first!

If someone had a window switch, wouldn't it give it the juice no matter what gear you were in?

I've left in 1st gear with it plenty of times, but I've made sure that I had the traction to go with it.;)

That's what I was thinking, if the switch was setup for 3-6k prms or so.

Why wouldnt u leave the line on the bottle if you've got traction? Its your choice, it doesnt matter. Do you think your motor knows your in 2nd gear??

the window switch just keeps you from spraying before an after a certain RPM. to actually spray he probably uses a full throttle switch or a manual button. The manual button allows him to spary in whatever gear he wants to spray in.

I leave on the bottle in first gear. Just becuase you may bog like hell launching at 5000rpm NA, doesn't mean you will lauching at 5000rpm on the juice.:D What that fool is doing, is he is spraying even though he doesn't have a lick of traction. that is just stupid.

If its an SS , He's getting traction. Im sure he can hit it in first (of course not off the line and leaving at 6k RPM) and still be ok if he hits it at the top of first.

I had mine wire up to the trans-brake. You put it on the floor, when you let off the button, it hit.

If your car hooks, then you most definately hit it off the line. The better the 60', the better the ET.

1st gear works best for me too :) ... I could use a little more traction - but my best 60' is a 1.59... ~Launching @ 6k

i have a feeling this is going to be more of a street race battle. On street tires/nittos. I think if the guys tries to launch hard AND hit the silly stuff in first, he will annihilate his radials, unless this guy is balsy enough to come out on that 10-bolt on slicks and juice. Not very smart, IMO

10 bolt + leaving at 3500 on Nitto's and a 100 shot = limp back home from track (but didn't make it so it was a $137 tow bill) and $1,400 fix (better parts and labor)

Man I wish I had video of what my car does on the bottle in 1st gear ;)

JS12 was behind me when I raced Wheezer (35th Anniv. TA) We went from a 25 punch and my bottle is throttle activated. When the juice kicked in my street tires gave up and I jumped across 3 lanes sideways LOL.

I guess I learned my lesson, never go full throttle in 1st gear :D

Unless I am trying to fill my line and scare little Jetta's at the same time :p

OUCH!! My 10 bolt held up fine to 5k launches on a 100 shot. Only good for a best of an 11.7 tho'.

But 6k on ET Drags is WAY WAY FUN!! :D

when i first put the Nitto's on i played around with them on the street and knocked the torque arm bolts loose. it didn't make any noise till i tried to launch and it would make a loud bang. i didnt figure this out till after the nitto's were gone and they loosen'd up more and would make noise when i stopped and took off (driving regular) with the torque arm loose all i could get was a 2.1 60' for a best of an 8.1:mad: @91. that was probly the reason for most of my rearend trouble.
