Aug 31 is charity laps at TMS again. It's $25 bones for 3 laps. The proceeds go to charity.

We'll meet at Speedzone at 3pm (play around) and leave at 5pm on the dot.

The laps are from 6-10pm. (personally I think running under the lights would be off da chain)

Even if you decide not to lap, the caravan should be fun!

I am game.

I may be 240lbs but I own the Grand Prix track!!!!

What are prices now, I have not been there in about 2 years except for a company outing that was all paid for.

Also, how much is the laps for charity? Still $25?

That sounds good, but after the charity laps, you all need to hit up our house. We're having a party for bitter Al P and BaldSharer's birthdays. We're like 10 minutes from the track so it will be perfect.

Black01, I don't slide as much on the slick track but I can hold my own with some light weights. As for the other speed track, If I get a slow car, it is all over for me.

On the grand prix cars, I have had a couple of fast laps of the day before when they were very busy.

I am planning on being there unless something else comes up. I have been told of a booze cruise on Lake Lewisville but since I am getting married, I must stay away from women in bikini's. I am getting cold feet (only 45 days) and I don't need any enticing little hotties around flirting with me.

No one has posted the cost for the laps for charity. Also, how are we going to know to look for everyone at Speedzone........do we need name tags or just meet in the parking lot at X:00?

Hey Aggie97-You and I can do some "team racin" & blocking. I'll probably have my brother in law and another guy who are both about your size with me. We'll call it Cowboy's Lineman Racing!
About that "booze & bikini fest" at Lake Lewisville,...if your getting married, you should probably send me in your place. Just a suggestion!:D

Some of you guys need to read. I posted the price of the laps when I first started the thread. Go read.

On the laps: There are pace cars in front and behind. The fun thing to do is to go slow, to create a gap then when you come up on a turn downshift and catch back up through the turn :D

You can have passengers or you can ride solo. No really little children allowed. You can't get up in the stands, you can I guess, ride into the stadium with someone who is lapping, get out and watch. Why watch? LAP IT!!!!!!

And yep, Sat. is a go.

Laps for Charity Bonus

Looks like a lot of you guys are planning on making the trip to TMS for Laps for Charity. The folks here at Denton Dragway would like to offer you big-hearted folks a little extra incentive to get out there and give a little.

Anyone who brings a ticket stub from the Aug. 31 event to Denton Dragway on that same night, will receive $5 off the admission price. As many of you already know, we are hosting one of our biggest races of the year on Saturday, The Ultimate Backhalf Challenge. Laps for Charity ends at 10:00, and we are just minutes north of TMS, so you would get there just as we are getting first round started.

Gonna be a late night at Denton, so you should get your moneys worth. Come and watch or make some runs.

Just don't lose your ticket stub or receipt. Go out and help a good cause at TMS and then come watch a special feature for just $10.

Nick
