I just bought a 02 Ram Pick up. The sound sound system kinda stinks!!
It has the usual cd player blah blah. Will speakers or a a head unit help more?
I don't need a booming system just want a nice CLEAR sounding system(kinda comparable to my stock mach in my 01 Cobra or t/a monsoon).

Power is your friend. If you put in new speakers, it will sound better and it will have more "highs" but it will still distort at mid-high volume because the deck does not have enough power. The best improvement for the money, IMO, is a 4 channel amp and a sub because the factory speakers will sound ok with more power and a crossover, the sub will fill in the missing low frequencies. Next, I would replace the factory speakers and then the deck.

Yea what he said (EW).:)
I do ck this board as often as possible, I just don't usually have to post, because EW is always dead on.
Thanks Eric,

new deck with a 4 channel amp (as stated earlier) and a 10 inch sub to give it some depth!

Thanks guys. But where would the sub go? I have the quad cab version. How much money are we talking here? There is Car Toys,Circuit city, and a Best Buy all right here in Frisco.
Brand names would help thanks again.:)

My friend has a new Ram and he made some custom enclosures to go under the rear seats. It sounds pretty good for a truck with no air space. -Aaron
