What year product is it? (there is a date sticker on it)
What was the price of the unit when new?
What is the unit doing/not doing?
If it is a power supply issue, I can get it fixed (approx $70). If it is a CD issue, buy a new one. It will have a warranty and better technology for less money.

it is a pioneer premier DEX-P1R it is from 96' and the face had been responding strangley to commands and buttons pushed but now it just won't do anything the player still sounds like it is stirring around in there but the face looks to have a loose connection. so it doesn't sound like a power supply issue but it also doesn't sound like a CD issue. even if it was for the money i don't think i could buy something that would replace the quality of sound and years of enjoyment this thing has given me. so if you could give me some prices on what you think it might cost or the name and number of a person i need to talk to i would greatly appreciate it.

hmmm, buy a new player, a deck that old can most likely be outplayed by the lowest class of pioneer of the newest style

yeah i am sure that the lowest piece of shit that pioneer makes will out perform that. and please don't start with the that's an old piece of shit player and it's worn out it still reviews as one of the best sounding players on the market hands down and it is ten fucking years old. i love this damn thing and if you can find something that does the job of ohhhh a good extra 2000-3000 bucks in equipment for this price let me know stangfag!!!

Im sure he did not know what deck you were speaking of, let us know how much you end up paying to get it fixed, hope its nothing too expensive, good luck!

Most large companies have a flat rate for their repairs. Since the unit you have is high-end, I would take it to a Pioneer service center. Expect their rate to be $100-200. It is probably worth it for that unit.

I would say so, If i would have known that the deck was worth that much then i would have jsut said "if you can spend that much on a deck whats 200bux to pay for repairs, I would take it to an audio shop that deals with pioneer for sure!!"

Does the deck power up at all or is there just no output?!?!
