A question about swapping Ford Stereos...

I have the Ford CD/Tape combo stereo in my Ranger. My wife has the nice 6-disc changer in her Escape. Can I simply swap in one of those 6-disc jobbies instead of the one I have now?

go and get the ford stereo pullers ($3.00 or so at walmart) and pull the stereos. if they both have the same connectors, then it will work. i have found that if they offer the same stereos in the same model year, then it will work.:)

I didn't think the CD changers came out until 2001, but I might be wrong :confused:

99% of explorers have an amp in the rear passengers side panel.
Without seeing anything, I'll vote that it won't work.

hmm, that's something I hadn't thought about either. In the Escape, there's a 300W amp, but that also goes to power the subwoofer.
