sounds like a nice setup, I wouldnt mind having mp3 in the car, I hate having to make shitloads of burned cds with only 80 minutes worth the music on em.

MSRP is $430 - $450

Low retail I found was at Circuit City (suprisingly) at $399

I purchased my Alpine from ebay user 'electronicgiant' who has his own online store. I was a little sceptical about the purchase considering warranty, fraud, customer service etc... so I emailed the seller and asked for credentials/assurances that I wasn't going to get screwed on the deal, and most importantly that the unit WAS brand new w/ manufacturer's warranty.

The seller was very speed to reply to my messages and sure enough the item was ligit, serial number and everything. I registered my unit the day I recieved it and It has the standard alpine warranty, 30 Exchange from the seller.

I paid $299 + $17 insurance shipped! I'm very very happy with the quality of this unit/MP3 play back/ease of use and highly recommend it. I could go on and on about the units features but Jose allready posted that ;)

I'd deff. do business again w/ this seller, he surely did me right!

Later,

Scott

I'm on eBay a lot and I know of Electrogiant. I've even got them saved on my watch list. Glad you had a good experience with them. Does you deck have any kind of EQ function? Some of the Pioneer units and I think the upper level Alpine units have a parametric EQ built in along with the crossover function.

Yes, kinda. The best way I can describe it is that you can 'choose' where your Treble and bass increase/decrease in boost. Its not like you can adjust + or - across a full band of freq's. The X-over works great and I have it set to run in harmony w/ the capabilites of a mach 460. Honestly I've done quite a bit of car audio and this sounds good enough for me not to spend any more money on for the time being; I plan on installing my RF 200 watt 4CH and my custome 2 10 Kicker box and IM DONE!!!!

Are the bass and treble frequencies adjustable? Next time we meet I'd like to listen to how your stereo sounds.

Can do, I'm tryin to find time (w/ the recent family issue) to install the 2 10's and amp. I swear it will all sound really good together w/

The Alpine

Mach 460

2 10's

Talk about a cheap/jammin setup!

I have built 5 or so custom boxes for sn95' for 2 10 and 1 12. The box Im using in this car is custom w/ same slant as back seat 10's facing rear of car / sealed w/ 2 chambers. It should provide just the right amount of bass for me, not lookin for alot. I WISH i still had my last 2 10 box that had the 10's facing forward so that when you lowered the seat there was a perfect vinyl panal there w/ the subs facing the passanger area.

my subs/box are sitting in my garage waiting to be put it; had lots of fam issues this week, it might have to wait a while we'll see. You can do those 12's like I was saying w/o much fuss and still have access to the spare and plenty of trunk.

And fit these 12's in your car with the mach 460, thats a tight fit. So maybe nextweek at a gtg. where do ya'll meet at I live in Rowlett and work in Plano.
