Here's a shot of the new beast. I hope it hooks up. I 'm hoping for some low 6's on motor and low 5's with 200 ot 300. I'm using 36 degrees of total timing, anybody got timing suggestions ?

Have you ever gone to the 385 series message board. Heres the link http://www.network54.com/Forum/85220 There are allot of knowledgable BBF people over there. Boaters, Pullers, and Drag racers. Anyway, there was a thread on timing a BBF a while ago and the consesus was that BBF like allot of timing. With 38 being the most popular setting. The is where I have mine right know. One guy even had it up to 43

Tell us about your combo. What block are you running. crank, rods, heads, cam, tranny. I am very interested. I need to go allot faster than i currently am.

Nick,
I put a new clutch in the 88. The last dude stripped out three bolt holes on the flywheel. I drilled them out and put 3/8 bolts in it.
I've got a 4" cowl hood, new fender, new front cover and hatch ready to go on it. Just waiting on money to paint it black. It should look awesome. I've got my brothers Keith Craft 306 ready to go in it next spring when I get a new tranny for it. I drive it 60 miles a day, no problems. The tach pod I installed kicks ass.

Love the car but buddy, clean up those ignition wires, they look like spaghetti. Im just real anal about the running of wires under the hood but all in all that car is BAD ASS. good luck.:D

I'm using a stock block with a main girdle, 4.440 + honing bore. I just put an Eagle 4.3 crank, Eagle 3D rods and JE flat top pistons
in it. The heads are Blue Thunders with the Chevy exhaust ports. I had these heads ported and polished by a local friend, they looked great, but I had Keith Craft flow them. 330 I, 245 E at .700" ! Shit by small block heads outflowed them. Now they flow 420 I and about 310 E. I just need a little more cam to get to .750". The carb is from Davinci, a 1050. I use the NX gemini plate. I run a powerglide with a 5000 stall and a brake. 4.33's with 31" tires in the rear. I ran this motor as a 478 last year with the shitty head flow, and on a 200 shot it went 5.80's. I plan to run several timing and carb jetting setups this weekend to find what works best.
