The best run I got was my first one, which was a 13.41 @. I got a 2.1 60' with DR's. I ended up shifting from 2nd to 3rd about 500-600 too early. On street tires, I got 13.47 @108. I was quite frustrated. So what went wrong?

It didn't hit me until Sunday. I had a problem spinning the tires in 1st and 2nd (mind that these were 315's I was using) all night. EXCEPT, the first run. I heated the tires up (finally got used to doing a burnout....never done one before) on all the other runs to make them stick better. I remembered that on the first run I actually drove around the puddle and backed into it. The other times I didn't. I guess this is another lesson learned.

In short (no offense Keebs), I could've had better times if I would've driven better. :)

If you were on DRs, you should have stayed out of the water all together.

Are you using 17" DR? If so think about 15" for the track they are cheaper and hook better. Ther is no reason you shouldn't get 1.8-1.9s with a good set of DRs.

With that MPH you have alot of ET to loose. :D

the problem with hard hooking 15 inch DRs is the 10-bolt back there. Its worse than the IRS! WORSE!

Thanx for the info guys. I'm still quite new to this (only had my car for 4 months now), and all the I can get helps a lot. I had no idea about not getting in the water. Should I still heat them up?

Back it up to where others have dragged the water out of the box. A little water will help it spin easier.

I would just do a light burnout to get any crap off the tires and heat them up a little.
