I was going over to a friends house to install an ASP underdrive pulley. Going north on Cherry, I spot a sharp red new Mustang turning behind me. I slow to a little below the speed limit, and he stays back. Finally we catch a red light, and side-by-side. I look over, but the driver doesn't look. He is about my age, so I figure there is a chance. We take off easy, he a little more aggressive than I. I paced him for a few feet, until he opened it up and starting pulling on me. I returned the gesture by opening up the T/A. For a moment, we are even, then as the LS1 gets close to 5K it starts pulling. As I speed shift the rev limiter catches the motor. Second gear chimes in with some noise from the Nitto's, and the Mustang is falling back. At the next light he gestures for me to roll down my window. We exchange compliments etc, and it turns out that his car was new and bone stock. He said he is planning on a Bassini catback and cold air kit and the light turned green and we both turned left with no further "childs play". I like it when everyone is friendly.
