Also, the stang was in the right side of the vette then on the left next to it in less then 3 seconds, so I don't know what bogus reality these LS-1 fags live in, but if they had lined up, the Stang would have beaten the vette badly as well as the Supra... For the record there was 4 races total. The first race I missed 3rd but it was clear the Supra was still pulling. So we called it a win for him since I would never have caught up.

To me, it looks like AL did make up the cars, getting to the Z06's rear-end, then either he let out or the motor was topped out. Considering Al's motor was built for a blower and the z06 was on the bottle, and he still caught him, Al's car doesn't run too bad. I bet that Z06 is very stout from a roll.

No, he was just on motor on that run. Considering that I am good for about 400 to the wheels because of my cam and 9 to 1 compression...well it should wake up real nice like when the boost gets thrown to it. And I wasn't topped out, i was at about 6500 RPm when i let off and I can pull 7200 if I need to. I let off because that damn tollbooth was coming up.

If we went from a stop I believe the video would go much the same way as the video from a roll except in reverse! I think Al would get a huge jump and then I would come back very strong, but I wouldn't pass because the race would already be over!

I find it extremely funny and fore telling that all these young LS1 owners think it only takes buying badass parts slaping them together in any old fashion and Walla, your fast, or at least in there estimation should be. That fact that AL P has a blower combo sans blower, doesn't mean anything to them. It still has allot of cool parts, so it should be fast. or that I have a big block so I should be fast, the fact that my factory heads suck shit doesn't mean anything, its big so it should be fast. It just goes to show that they have no clue how to go fast. If it weren't for GM and a few good builders providing all the "go fast" for them, they'd all be slow.

The point I was trying to make to you Denny was that price of car means nothing....amount invested in mods means everything. Sure I could go to the junk yard, buy a Vega slap 10,000 into it and I would have a 9 sec. car....hell for 10K I can buy a friends 68 camaro and it is already built it runs 9's with a throttle stop and runs 5.2 in the 1/8th all day. Lots of people dump 1000's into there z06 and aren't as fast as me. For instance, the Black Z06 at Ennis with the red role cage. He has heads, cam, 3.90:1 gears, 150 shot, full exhaust (including headers) clutch, shifter, slicks, etc. and only runs 10.9. I will run 10's with my new clutch, before heads cam. Come on guys be real!
As for young LS1 owners.......you couldn't be referring to me....hell I have owned more cars and driven more shit then half the people I know. I love racing and I know the time it takes to build a fast car, but for the record....these days it is not about speed, but rather consistency........Drive Through Please!

Thanks to my option S discount I will come in at below 42K....only bad thing is I don't know when it will be here...could be tomorrow, could be six months. I am on a waiting list. It took me 6 weeks to get the 02 coupe that I am driving right now. I am selling it though, i got it for $39,700 and should come out close enough to even that I am happy :)

Well back in January when i ordered the 02 that I have the dealer told my stepfather that he wouldn't let us order ZO6s or convertibles under that S discount...so I said "SHIT"....and ordered the EB coupe I have. Well sure enough, two weeks ago my stepdad went back to him and said he wanted three more vettes from him (one for him, one for his banker, and one for my brother) and told him that if he would let me order a ZO I would take another one too. The guy gave in and said we could so both me and my brother ordered ZO's (he got red).
The S discount is for employees only, both my parents retired from the plant in Arlington, my brother works at the plant in OKC (heck I worked at the plant in Arlington for four years building Impala SS and cop cars to put myself through college).
99% of dealers will not let you order a vette under the option S but this dealer is stealing alottment from other dealers by letting us do this. If he can sell a car that someone ordered from another dealer and flaked out on, then the next year he gets that other dealer's allotment for that corvette. And that is what the option S is....they put you on a waiting list until someone orders the exact car you want then flakes out and doesn't take delivery. So he is going to be able to get more new vettes on his showroom floor the next year and i get a car for nice and cheap.
Those damn cars hold their value! Good when you sell but sucks when you buy them used!!

Also helps if you are a good wheelman. He doesn't seem to be the best pilot around! That car sould easily run mid tens with an experienced driver behind the wheel!

I say this because mine is 3317 with me in it.......he is bigger then me and has an extra bottle.
His car on motor went 12.0 - 12.1. I have talked to him lots. He is a very good driver. I really think that his haeds/cam are the wrong combo.......they are prod stage one ls1 heads or something. Because he runs the same times I do and we have nearly the same setup (with exception to the gears). I have no heads/cam but I assume his are very mild because of his times!

Not to barge in, but I sure as fuck hope you aren't talking bout my buddy Chris's car... if you are, you can eat a dick, cause his car went 10.9s letting out... he would fuck you up on/off bottle... he has the fastest fucken vette I have seen besides Jeff Nation's. If you aren't talking bout Chris's car, then I agree with you... But Chris ran a 6.X @ 101 or something and trapped 117 on a 10.9 pass... you do the math. He let out at the 900 foot mark and coasted. His car will go low 10s when it gets the heads back easily...

I have to agree with STROKD on this one. If you are talking about Chris McKinney with the black FRC on Fikses, you are wrong. HIs car is a badmofo on motor and downright viscious on bottle. He walked Andi Baritchi on motor when Andi was BPU++. I'll post a link when i get home. Him and Garcia are both very fast and shouldnt be taken lightly.

As for Greg, mine and his car run the same.........he also doesn't have a Z06.....Most C5 heads/cam/bottle run mid to high 10's. However my car with the same setup should run low to mid 10's.
Come on fellas....I know most of the people that drive corvette's or the one's that matter anyways!

For the record, we didn't leave because they showed up, we left because it was boring. Hell, Nick came over and bullshitted with us for 5 minutes or so, and then I went and talked to AL P, Nick, and even Darren, hell I think "Feltersnatch"(can't remember his name) was even there.
I told them I was taking off, and since Arthur and Gary drove my truck my there, and Patrick and I brought my car, they left when we did.
I did notice tho, that they rolled 10 deep, in two cars and a bike...

Darren, sure to God you don't mean what I think that says?? When your heads/cam/bottle are on, ALp has his blower on, you two race and it will be a close race. So what you are saying, you are going to make the worlds first 8 sec pass with a stock vette. What kind of mph will you expect from this radical of a combo? No matter though the heads ended up flowing 292cfms at .600 lift.
Not that it is any of your concern. I bet you honestly couldn't tell me why this even matters. Hell, I do have stock chambers....so! What that would say to me is that these heads flow as much as anyone elses Stage 2 head and have barely been scratched.
Flow means nothing if you have no velocity....................You must remeber that I have a stock bottom end. And not nearly enough horse power to drive a 340+ flowing head.
No matter though these heads are not going on my car. I have a set of Stage 3 being built by a friend. That is why they are not on the car yet!
As for Al and his charger...I had no idea the car was built to run an 8 sec 1/4 mile. That would be a feat. I do not see that in the near future at all, however I am not saying that it is not possible. The car I saw only had a 6 point cage (i think).....this would indicate to me a 10 sec car! Nope....Contrary(sp?) to popular belief I do not get much from AMS.....to be honest I bought the heads there and nothing else....ever! Which I got in one week (thank god)
I have all my work done by various friends and such and all they really do is dyno my car!
To be honest I don't care about shops...I check for the best price and then buy it from whom ever is cheaper! (unlike Brad who seems to think it is okay to buy things for more ;))
I ended up going to horsepower because they were $100 less then AMS. And about the same as everyone else but normally $50 less on average.
What happened was I ordered the wrong disk..I needed a 900 series disk instead of a 6000 series.
Eitherway I haven't called since Thurs...so it is probably there!

Well, I just spent an hour and a half reading this pissing match and it was quite entertaining. :D I figure I can put in my $.02 since I read the whole thing from the start and watched the video. I see three cars in the video and AL_P was obviously not in the race or he would have been lined up with the other two that were obviously running each other.

I don't say things like that just for effect. On tuesday I ordered an 03 Electron Blue ZO6 with the electrochromatic mirrors and the memory package. Thanks to my option S discount I will come in at below 42K....only bad thing is I don't know when it will be here...could be tomorrow, could be six months. I am on a waiting list. It took me 6 weeks to get the 02 coupe that I am driving right now. I am selling it though, i got it for $39,700 and should come out close enough to even that I am happy :)
What I want to know is....will this dealer let me order that C6 that is coming out in 04....I guess time will tell.

I ordered it and it arrived but I couldn't get the dealer to take the Blue coupe back at a "sane" trade in amount so I told the dealer to keep that ZO6.
I think as soon as the pics of the C6 hit the magazines the market value of the plain C5 cars plunged.

As for Al and his charger...I had no idea the car was built to run an 8 sec 1/4 mile. That would be a feat. I do not see that in the near future at all, however I am not saying that it is not possible. The car I saw only had a 6 point cage (i think).....this would indicate to me a 10 sec car! Right now Al is a high 11 sec car in my opinion and with a blower, you are talking about picking up 3 whole seconds.....hhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm

I ran a 7.28 n/a, no blower.... put a turbo on and ran 5.5's. That's a decrease from 11.50 to 8.50.
