I just got my 331 stroker running two days ago, and I have about 250 miles on it and I came across a race today. I figured it would give me a chance to see how good my car runs. My car is still untuned and not fully broke in yet. anyways, this rx-7 runs mid 12's and wanted to run me from a 40mph roll. so i said ok, whatever. so we roll at 40 mph and I am in 2nd gear. he honks the horn three times and he punches it. right after he hit it I hit my throttle. before I shifted into third, I had already pulled ahead so his front end was even with the back of my door. right when I shifted into fourth, I looked over and didn't see him, then I look back a little further, and his nose was about (rough guestimate) 4 to 5 feet behind my rear bumper. that was the end of that race. so we are heading back to my friend steves house, and me and this guy danny (in the rx-7) hit a traffic light and there is no one around at all. he looks over at me and says let's go. I said ok, I guess one more time. so the light turns green, and I feather the throttle and clutch off the line to keep from spinning to bad. he was next to me doing the same thing. it wasn't until I hit about 3500 rpm in 2nd that I started to pull. I didn't ever take the motor past 5600- 5700 rpm. even though it makes power to about 6000 or so. by the time I let off in fourth gear, his nose was right on my rear bumper. He was pretty freakin fast. This is my first time to drive a car this fast, and I am loving ever second of it. just thought I would share my happiness with everyone.
