A friend bought a alpine deck (7893) and then he went out and bought alpine amp (MRD-M500), He is talking bout some bass engine thing.... does anyone know what it does, if it does anything, how it works?

Bass engine is Alpine's marketing program. There is a remote display/control that can mount on the dash and give you full control of the amps info and adjustments.
