I know they haven't been as good as they once were but $3.99 makes it worth taking a chance on them..

Supposedly, they are a bit better now than when they released Make Believe. I know, they'll never release another Blue Album or Pinkerton, but it is what it is. I haven't listened to them since Maladroit, but if I see a used copy of some of their newer shit at a used record store for a decent price (probably $4.99 or less), I'll pick a copy up just for shits and giggles.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! They're still making "music"?
Once a great band, they just haven't been the same since Matt Sharp left the band. In fact, they've been downright awful. Without Sharp there to tell Rivers Cuomo to shut the fuck up and not be a poppy bitch, they've spiraled out of control.

I would advise against it. Make Believe was awful, but the Red album was somehow exponentially worse. Buy some hemorrhoid cream with that $5...or something.

I thought Green and Maladroit were decent records. Hell, Green didn't come out of my player for almost a month when it first came out! I'm not sure if Matt Sharp leaving was what doomed Weezer either, as The Rentals pretty much suck, in my opinion. I had a buddy from work who swore the same thing as you.

Sorry, can't listen to anything but the blue album, the rest is shit, pinkerton is alright at best.

They each had their moments, to be fair.
The Rentals suck, no doubt. I think the two of them balanced each other out perfectly with Rivers not letting Sharp get too goofy and Sharp not letting Rivers get too poppy.
Regardless, Weezer is now awful. I'll try to give this one a listen.
Edit: I dig the Japanese Surf Rock in the sig.
