im not trying to start a war here or nothing but some people in the mustang world are bashing on gearheads saying certain stuff.
Now for 1: you guys fixed my blown out spark plug when it went throught the head and i havent had any problems with it since. But at the same time, when i got there people were tryin to figue out why it was runnnin the CEL on when i had an o/r x pipe, and no one bothered to look under the car. that kinda has me thinking but your work speaks for itself.
BUT then again someone told me that you guys dont "tune" worth a crap and that you guys go have someone from HPP come and tune the cars. i for one, have never heard that out of anyone here in the FTW area but please shine some light on that, why would someone say that???
Now the only reason im asking all this is because im wanting to do a rear end build up and i wanted to go with you guys but then, on another mustang website, people were saying bad things about you guys.
whats the deal?
is it just angry customers that are NEVER satisfied or the type of guys that trash their cars and need to blame someone for it, so they blame you guys???
So confused here..................

Gearheads will get my future business because of Travis. Whenever I have had an issue or an unusual sound, he has looked at my car, test driven it and never made wise ass remarks about it. I have a relationship with his shop, his guys and it's closer to me.
It's a rough business to be in since you can never make everyone happy. I have heard stories about both shops, but I used both and made my own conclusions about each.

Well I told you he was gay. Whoever make a thread like this must be a faggot.
Let me guess, you must be on SVT and AarronK must be trying to discredit us again(LOL)I can assure you we do all our own tunes here and we stand behind everything we do 100%.In this business its impossible to make everyone happy. Not to mention Loyal customers are few and far between.Everyone is always looking for"the deal"We try our best to take care of everyone the best we can.Should a problem arise we would try in every way to take care of it.Let me or Matt know what you need and we will give you the best deal possible and try to accomodate your schedule the best we can. Thanks,Travis

I've had work done at both shops, I've been happy with the results each time. The last couple of times I tried to get in at HPP though, they were just too busy. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I needed some things done right then. I took it to Gearheads on the recommendation of someone here, and even though they were busy when I got there, they still took time to explain what needed to be done, what couldn't (or shouldn't) be done, exactly what they were going to do to get it done and how long it was going to take. They came through on everything they said they were going to do, even surpassing my expectations on what kind of power I'd have when they were done.
I haven't had a project car in a while, but when I start another one, GH's will be getting my business again. That kind of service is hard to find these days.

I left travis a basket case ,dead battery and all. And he fixed it and tuned it all in the same day. Car runs great , no surging or anything.

i didnt mean to come off like that.............
Gearheads has MY business, for sure. I just wanted to clear the tuning comment i had heard from someone else???
i didnt mean to come off like i was trying to shitbag Gearheads..I personally was happy with the work they did.....and i hope to be in there one day soon getting some more work done.
I was just talking about some mods i wanted to get done here in the next months to someone else.....and i told them where i wanted to take my car and they were just harsh about Gearheads...so i wanted to get the info cleared up. def not trying to put them on a neg spotlight.

I've never been to HPP, but my schedule is not always normal. Had to drop the car off a couple times after 9pm and Travis came up to the shop to put the car inside.
Customer services makes a big deal.

I never done business with either but I have friends who have been to both. I've heard good things about both shops but I've never heard anything bad about gearheads unless it was someone who had just gone to hpp.

Travis does the Tuning his self and it in my opinion is top notch. I had a tune from hpp and I was not happy with it so I took it to Travis he looked at it And retuned it and picked me up an additional 12 hp compared to their tune. first he pulled several pulls with there tune then retuned it and pulled several pulls from his tune so I am not going off sheets from two different dyno's either.

This is true. I sent the same list of things i wanted done to my car to travis and HPP, travis price was $900 out the door, HPP was $1600. Travis has always taken care of me and my car.

Because I live so far west, I deal with Gearheads first. My friends and I have always been treated well there. I do have some friends that live in Dallas and have used HPP with great results. Both stores seem to do quality work and stand behind it. Dallas Mustang went through a spell of questionable work, but since Slim is in the shop there the work turned out has improved in quality. I think it is great that we live in an area that has a lot of good quality shops that are nationaly known. Name another part of the United States that can say that.:grouphug:
Travis and Chris (when he was there) were always really nice and helped me out. Id go back

travis has always gone above and beyond to help me with mods/problems with my car. No matter how little money I spend their he always takes his time to explain what I need, what will help my car, what mods probably wont do much. That is more than I can say for some others....

i appreciate you guys and all your comments and good info. i understand that certain people will just never be happy. and i really appreciate no one sending me hate mail and hearing me out, i was never trying to put Gearheads on the spot like that. i just simply wanted some info from other peoples experiences. and just for the record....Gearheads has my business...theyre the closest ( somewhat) and respected in the FTW area.
Thanks guys

"The following is NOT a paid endorsement"
AarronK loves to bash GH on SVTP. He royally bashed me & GH when I posted on SVTP how much of a good experience I had with GH & how bad an experience I had with HPP. IDK him personally or anything so I won't bash him.
I installed all of my mods on my 03Cobra. When I took it to HPP they said it was all a bunch of garbage & then let my car set for 3 weeks just to swap an alt & do a tune. Funny thing is that "Garbage" they said I had was the exact setup they sold my friend last year& told him that those parts were awesome.
Started corresponding with Travis & GH & got my car tuned & back on the road in 1 day. I live in Louisiana so it's a long trip for me to make to DFW.
As for HPP a LOT of ppl go there & see how disorganized it is & walk out. My friend paid CASH for a TT kit from them over 6 months ago & he still hasn't recieved all of his parts. They used his injectors for his kit to finish a different car. Every time hecalls about his parts he gets the run around. That's pretty crappy if you ask me. He paid $11k cash up front for his TT kit & has spent over $10k with HPP before buying a whipple, fuel system, cams, tunes, etc. & they still treat him like crap. That's not fiction, I've seen that up close & personal.
I've seen sum badasscars & both shops, but i'm gonnaspend my $$ whereI get treated right wether it's cheaper or not.

I can vouch for the guys at Gearhead. Travis and the rest of the guys always go that extra mile. They've modded my mach on several occasions. They've been in the motor as well as the tranny. All tuning was done by Travis. My mach is gone but ill will still bring them my g8 gt 6.0 when i get ready to start modding. I know these guys can make anything fast and run for 100000+ miles.
