Are these 17" MT Street Radials gonna be up to the task?

I'm just getting around to doing some "street testing" on the car since I got back from the dyno last week. All I can say is WOW! The car used to not break the MT's loose on the street and now it shreds them through first and just kept on spinning them into second when it shifted and I let out. I'm hoping that with a good burnout and on a well prepped track they'll still hook up. Am I dreaming?

the guys cutting 1.3s and stuff on DRs and stuff have incredibly well-adjusted chassis, so keep that in mind too.

Yeah it can take some adjustments. They dont nessesarily just bolt on and work. Or.... sometimes they do..

My problem was a converter that was too loose and causing it to build a LOT of boost REAL fast.

Just last Friday, with the new converter, I cut a 1.46 with a LOW 2 step. I think it might have a 1.43 or so in it turned up.

I don't care too much whether it cuts a 1.4 or a 1.7. Until I get some more strength in the car, I don't want to get too crazy anyway. I was just wondering if it was gonna blow the tires off. I'd be content with some 1.6's with the extra power and good grip. I hit the 2-step in the driveway last night and it made 4psi @ 2200! It used to only make 2psi. I think I can ease up on the 2200 rpm and see where my threshold is.

Just depends on how hard you hit them on launch.

"Just an observation" - when drag radials start spinning, they are slow to recover. Come out of the hole "soft" and you will get a better 60'

My car doesn't start spinning from the hit as much as it does once boost starts coming on... The car doesn't make much power until about 3500 rpm. It goes from 300rwtq to 500rwtq in about 300rpm! (3300 to 3600 rpm.)

They should be able to handle 500tq with the car in motion on a sticky track.

But it could get interesting! :D Don't be like the Viper guys and lose it in the middle of the track. :D

Well you have about 500 less than that car in the video, so you should be able to make it hook ok. Do you have adjustable control arms/shocks?

for last years event he drove some crazy amount of miles and went on to run a 8.XX

car has 17's all the way around and cuts 1.3X 60's with a 4l80e

It might hook up like it is, but if you plan on drag racing a lot I would put those next on the list. Do you have your front sway bar unhooked/removed?

I am real good at giving advice, but I am showing up with all stock suspension and more power than you make lol. So who knows what mine will do either? I just threw it together real quick!
