I've done research on her. I like her stances, especially on the 2nd, open carry and immigration. Oh and seriously lower taxes.

Nicely done vid. Well spoken and a real person, which is a definite plus. Nice how country people kick ass.
She's potentially got the Mexican vote. Don't see her gaining enough ground to do anything, even if she is backed by Ron...

I heard her on 570 the other afternoon. I like her, but she doesn't have a chance.

I agree with the not having a chance....too bad really. If she could pull off half the things she says, this state would be in a whole lot better shape.

I liked the idea of paying the sales tax on your house up front, then never paying property taxes again. She's a HUGE supporter of "open carry", and I'm just not real sure about that.

I can understand the concern of open carry, I have my doubts on it as well. I just like her stance that the 2A should not be infringed upon.

She'd get my vote if the chance came about

Same here. She sounds very sharp, and sums a lot of issues up very succinctly.

is her stance on immigration making it punishable by fines for hiring them? Thats the only solution that will work.

Tazz, I'm a huge gun rights advocate, but I have a few concerns about open carry. In a previous thread, I was more concerned about the safety of the individual carrying the weapon than I am the crook. Mainly, the scenario of an elderly person being overpowered and their own weapon used on them (or someone nearby). Maybe I'm being a little paranoid, and there were several guys that mentioned that this was a scenario that had never happened in states that allow it, but my dad is almost 70 and thinks he's still 50. Some of these old guys get a "half bubble off plumb" as they get older, and can't always do the things they think they can.
That being said, I would certainly "open carry" myself, and in 98% of the cases, wouldn't be concerned.

I went to her website and watched her video...impressive. I also noted that Ron Paul endorses her, probably because she's a constitutionalist. I will vote for her. Perry and the cheerleader don't need my vote anyway.

I've said it here a million times, the Governor of Texas is a mascot. In the Texas government, the Lt. Governor has more power than the Governor.
So don't get all gussied up by what these Goobers (Gubernatorial candidates) promise because if they're elected they won't have any power to get anything done.
That's why I was going to vote for Kinky again because we need a real joker for that joke of an office. But now he's running as a democrat, and there's no way I'm voting for any Texas Democrat pussy.

I LOVE the idea of getting rid of property taxes, and making things more sales tax based. I still hate taxes though.
Open Carry, I can understand your point. I am all for it on principle, but I probably would not open carry all that often.

My property taxes are already gone. It's a BIG relief.
I'd definately open carry all the time

She looks promising but I want a lot more before I'm ready to support her.
Spending; how is she going to cut it? More importantly, how is she going to GET it cut?
Taxes; how much of an increase in sales taxes would we be looking at to replace property taxes? What is her higher priority, changing the tax code or reducing spending? What happens if the feds institute a VAT (something the Obama Administration is considering)
Transportation; what is her position on toll roads? What is her position on financing public road construction? What is her position on gasoline taxes?
Education; what fat is she going to target and how will she cut it? What is her plan to make our education system more efficient? How can she get vouchers through the legislature?

I get to show who I like in the primary, then vote for the winner in the election.
I did vote for Perot in '92, and I'll never do that again.
