Colt FTW! What's OU's running game looking like this year? I think without that, they'll be a pretty mediocre team. Bradford is good, but from what I remember, he doesn't have the mobility that McCoy does.
I wish Texas had a good running back. That little shit from Southlake is going there, but I honestly don't think he was all that great in HS and doubt he'll be much in college.

Man, Texas usually pulls something out of their ass when it comes to the rb position. I'm not worried.

Majority of the media, (ABC/ESPN) was campaigning for the Texas camp last year during the 3 way tie-breaker. But once again, it was the rules that had been written and agreed upon by all schools, that sent Oklahoma to the Championship game. It had nothing to do with "media" bias or non-bias.

They return 3 All Conference RB's. Demarco Murray, (1st team) Matt Clapp (1st team) Chris Brown (3rd team). The two new additions at OL (transfer from LSU, and Ole Miss) are both geared more towards power run blocking) If anything, there will be an early emphasis on the run game in 09'

They definitely didn't last year. Colt was their leading rusher if I remember. Not by a small margin either.

This.......can't wait.......all the people saying the line is going to suck because they weren't starters last year........yet they don't pay attention to the game time they actually got because Stoops laid the wood to everyone they played for the BCS. I agree the line won't be NEAR as good as last year, but given time to gel and the fortunate Oct. 17th date with Texas.......it's going to be a fantastic game this year. Depth on Texas' d-line will also determine how good they will be.

OU's running game won't be an issue, even with the "inexperienced" o-line. They are good enough to make plays, will they both be 1,000 yard rushers again this year? Yet to be determined......
Bradford doesn't have near the mobility of Colt, but he some avoidability (if that's even a word). Like everyone else has already heard a thousand times.........it's going to come down to how the o-line plays this year.
OU's d-line will once again be one of the best in the country....Linebackers are experienced behind Reynolds this year, but the deep men don't have much experience.

OU's question mark on D every year is the secondary is it not? The deep ball always seems to give them fits.

I think those twin 1000 yd rushers were pretty effective last year, enough where teams had to pay attention to the run. One things for sure...we will see how good Bradford really is.

I agree with the Bradford thing, but looking at the pics, it appears he's put on a little muscle, much the same as Colt last year, so hopefully he can take a few hits.
They were effective, but with the everyone thinking the o-line isn't very good......load up the box to get to the QB and make Bradford throw the ball quicker than he wants.

OU's question mark on D every year is the secondary is it not? The deep ball always seems to give them fits.
The two corners from last year (Franks/Jackson) are the best "lock down" corners that Oklahoma has had since the late 80's. They both return, and are expected to be the strength of the secondary. Its not the "deep ball" that has given Oklahoma trouble over the last few years. Its the passes over the middle of the field that they have had trouble on giving up big chunks yards on. Slant patterns that should net 8-10 yards, turn into 30-40 yd TD passes, when players are out of position. (LB's and Safeties in pass coverage.)
Oklahomas inexperience on defense this year, come from the 2 safeties. They are both young, with little to no starting experience. But much like Texas.........the talent level doesnt drop off.......they just lack experience. So, only time will tell how well they develop.
Most supporters believe that this will be the best Defense Stoops has had since 01' (With all starters returning, except for the 2 safeties. And both of those guys took alot of heat for being out of position ALOT last year) So, depending on how well the two sophmore safeties come along, will determine how well the D plays as a whole. But with one of the best front 4 in the game, it will make things aLOT easier on the secondary.

wait a minute, Royal owns 3 of the 4 national championships that UT has...he made Texas what it is today, there is no question. A big reputation and winning brings in the good players, take a way 3 national championships, they end up a 2nd tier program. Oklahoma says you are welcome.

Would you consider Miami a top tier program right now? What about Colorado? BYU? What about Notre Dame even? Pittsburgh?
All have one National Championships in the last 30 or so years. One title doesn't mean you have an elite program, but I can see why you would cling to that, seeing as 75% of your national championships are courtesy of a Sooner. Again, you are welcome.

well, OU played for the 4th time in this decade for the national championship and lost in another close game after winning the Big XII title...again, who did UT play again, what bowl were they in..I can't remember since the outcome was insignificant.

I know logic evades you, but if you don't have the program that Texas had, who says they even get Mack Brown, who says they get the players to get him those wins? There is a reason you see the same teams at the top of the standings year in and year out, because they keep getting the players, the coaches, etc..because everyone wants to win. Without that initial guy who gets your program to legendary status, you get nothing in the future. So again, the UT program was built by a Sooner. Very few coaches have "changed" college football. Two major ones were Knute and DKR, with the forward pass and the wish bone respectively. DKR cut his football teeth in the Sooner State, so UT's program was built by a Sooner, so without OU, UT would be shit. It is really simple logic a 2nd grader could understand, it is called cause and effect, but I am sure you will blah, blah, blah your way to another retarded rebuttal that does nothing but to further prove what a complete fucking idiot you are.

I won't t revisit the whole argument of who beat who and how that works regarding who goes to the National Championship. We both made it to the post season, there is not question about that. The point I am making is one of these two teams played in the National Championship. You have to make it there before you can start cocking off about who had the better season. For the record I really like and admire the program at UT. I even back them as long as OU isn't on the same field.

Yeah, and the BCS should've known by now that putting OU in the national championship would've been a disappointment after they had lost their last what...3 or 4 bowl games?

TE Jermaine Gresham-Ardmore, OK
WR Ryan Broyles-Norman, OK
RB Chris Brown-Alexandria, LA
RB Demarco Murray-Las Vegas, NV
DT Gerald McCoy-Oklahoma City, OK
CB Dominique Franks-Tulsa, OK

You never answered my question about the other schools that have one titles in the last 30 years and them being 2nd tier teams. Please say BYU and Colorado are 1st tier programs, please oh please, I am sure you will since it backs up your arguement, but the fact is, they aren't. Once could argue that even Notre Dame and Miami aren't right now. Point being that one year doesn't make a program, it is built over years and years and years, the most successful for UT coming under the leadership of an Oklahoma Sooner.
So you can say DKR wanted to get out of Oklahoma as fast as he could and I will say that the Texas kids on OU's team didn't want to play for dumb ass fans and a whiny bitch for a coach.

Yeah, OU's running game will have no problem putting up huge numbers with Demarco M. and Chris Brown on the ground. Oh and lets not forget who won the Heisman.... not McCoy.....

I agree with this 100%, but this really doesn't surprise me on this board. It's hard for me to say much because I know people will come back with cocksucker this and meet at the bike racks that.........I like the back and forth and the ribbing, but some people on this board just want to fight and it gets old quick.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I love to discuss all things College Football. But, there's never a whole lot of "football" discussed here. Some get it, and some don't. Unfortunetly, the ones who get it..dont seem to post much. And If I had to guess, you would be hard pressed to be find any of these so called "Texas" fans anywhere near DKR stadium on a Saturday during the season.

Sec 108 and 119. We've got 5 tix, but 3 are together, and 2 are together. So, it just depends on how we want to split them up. My best friend is flying in from Denver, and then then another buddy is driving up from Houston...and then my wife and little girl. I really want to sit with my buddies...but, would hate for my wife and daughter to have to sit by themselves. Might end up selling them all, and trying to find 5 together at the stadium.

Why only UT? Here we go...You can say that about almost any college fan on this site. TCU, SMU, Baylor, and UT are not far away, but few fans go to the games. My daughter finds me tickets to a few of the UT games, but not all. So...if you don't go to the actual stadium, you're not a fan? Damn. That's a tough qualifier for OU, Tech, Mizzou, etc. fans. I guess if we're not within driving distance, we're not fans...

I don't know too many that drive to Norman for every home game, either. My kid goes to every UT game she can, rain or shine, if she can get there. She gets her Red River Shootout ticket with her package ($100 extra), and has student contacts (kids she went to high school with) at Tech, Baylor, A&M, and even OSU. They trade out tickets to each others home games. Then about 10 of them pile into a suburban and haul ass. I miss those days. Youth is a wonderful thing....

It's funny...I have a hatred for a couple of the poster's here, but I have old friends whose kids go to all these schools in the Big 12. We raise hell with each other(and so do our kids), but it's still all in fun. Most folks on this board don't have kids old enough to understand, but as parents of college kids, we all share huge financial burdens for the betterment of our kids. If my daughter had insisted on going to USC (which she almost did!), we would have made it work financially and (gulp) "athletically". It could be said for alot of Universities. No doubt. In this particular situation, we were discussing UT, and the handful of "supporters" that had previsouly posted on this thread.
I guess if we're not within driving distance, we're not fans...
Not neccesarliy. But in my eyes, to be a true fan, there should be some type of investment, whether it be time, monetary, or educational. Without that, I see everyone else as just someone who follows the flavor of the week. T Shirt fans as some would like to call them. Im not speciafically pointing fingers at anyone particluar, but when the conversation goes something like this, its hard not to form that opinion......
Me: It should be a great game. OU and Texas are fairly evenly matched, and it should come down to who wins the O-Line/D-Line battle
Typical DFW poster:Fuck you, you cocksucker, fuck your mom
Me: OK? So...what do you think will be the difference in the game?
Typical DFW poster Fuck You Retard.
I mean, it doesnt get a whole lot better than that. We're obviously communicating over a computer, so when all I ever see are comments similar to those, its hard not to have that opinion that the person isnt a fan of a given team, when they cant ever add anything of intellectual value to the conversation. What better way to hide the fact that you dont know anything, than to "Kansas City Shuffle" everyones attention somewhere else.

She would never have picked OU or A&M, because their lack of having a reknown business school (She's at McCombs). My oldest daughter chose her school for the pre-med program and to play soccer. To each his own. Her scholarship money (academic, not athletic) pretty much covered about $18k a year. We have family friends (that she went to high school with) that told their kids the only way they would pay for college was for them to go to A&M, and of course, they did.

Pops & I have been season ticket holders at OU going on our 4th year now(after 5years on the waiting list), the drive isn't all that bad from Grand Prairie & ever since 99BRINGIT told me where to park, getting out of the chaos isn't bad either after the game. :)
I wish my dad and I could do that. Good times!

aw, sorry about your bad luck, I have my son this evening. I can let you fight both of us though, would that be okay? He can hold you down while I beat the ever loving fuck out of you and jerk off in your eye. Maybe we can meet up at the elementary school by the bike racks after school and let me piss on your leg after I have broken your face off. I have a better idea, why don't you go back in time to Sept. 11, 2001 and hop on American Airlines flight 11 out of Boston headed to L.A.
Wow I just don't know what to say. You are the lowest scum on the earth. What the fuck is wrong with you. How any woman would want to fuck you is beyond me. You must have raped her in her sleep. You just need to die and burn in hell.

I seriously think he lost his grip. Sane people don't say the things he's said in this thread.

I'm sure it's him. He's been borderline for a long time. He's finally lost it. I've never seen that much pure hatred spewed on this site.

I think the manor in which he did it, was pretty low However, I seriously doubt any of you have never made a jew joke, Hitler, joke, etc. I know I'm guilty of it. Hell, my Jewish coworker once told a German Chef he'd be glad to come out and teach him how to use his new ovens, as long as the Chef promised to leave the gas off.
As for the Whitman stuff, that was just classless.
lmao!
I haven't quite figured out what to think of BS yet though. I used to not be able to stand him, but then he calmed down for a while and wasn't that bad.

In the spirit of the conversation, I didn't hear a "joke" by any stretch. He's a sick bastard for even having some of that stuff rattling around in his head. I got notified by a couple of members that there were reports to a mod, in the event I got reprimanded, too, so it must have been pretty offensive.
