I was hoping Lance was going to win it, but 3rd place isn't bad after coming out of a 4 year retirement at the age of 37 years old. Contador (on Lances Team) won. Astana(lances team) won the overall team. Rumor was, there was some drama with their team between Contador and Armstrong, about who the leader was. I think that Lance got too caught up being a team player and Contador took advantage. Lance said he will be in the Tour de France in 2010 and has already sign a deal with Radio Shack. He mentioned bringing alot of his team with him, with no mention of Contador. It should be real interesting next year. My prediction is Lance in 2010 will get his 8th Tour de France win.

Not true. Greg Lemond got my interest back in the early/mid '80's. He won it in '86, and it about devastated the european cycling world. That alone was worth it. In 1989, he won it again. To see that film of Laurent Fignon waiting for Lemond's time trial result, is fucking PRICELESS! Fignon (a typical frenchman) was giving a victory interview, because Lemond supposedly had too much time to make up for in the time trial. On a split screen, they showed Lemond FLYING through that course, and beat Fignon by just seconds. It was the ride of his life.

In my opinion, that was the greatest tour ever. Remember, Lemond's 2nd and 3rd tour wins came after he was shot buy his brother in law in a hunting accident. There have several truly great riders but IMO there was nothing like Lemond on his horse.

Contador probably cost teamate Andreas Kloden a spot on the podium. It's not a rumor, there was tension amongst the team. They all just handled it very professionally. I thought it was a brilliant performance by Armstrong. We'll see what happens next year. The Schleck Bros. were also very impressive. All in all, not the most exciting tour but they are all good.
