well i would but there is quite a bit of techno sounding stuff on it too that i am not too fond of... for the jazz it only has maybe a CD worth of good material out of the 5 cd pack.
just going through this youtube stuff i noticed that Jazz Casual was a TV show and that means there is probably a good list of musicians somewhere on the web.
the cd set i have is not listed on amazon
here's a cool one from The Aviator, not on the OST but its still cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0lH8OM8gmI

Thanks, looking now. I'm making a list so that when I'm ready I'll just go get it all in one sweep.

Ain't no fuckin' jazz list without Mingus.
Charles Mingus - Mingus Dynasty
Charles Mingus - Mingus Ah Um
Those are my personal favorites and ones most people consider "essential."
The big names have already been mentioned in Ellington, David, Brubeck, Monk and Coltrane.
Stanton Moore is a New Orleans/jazz drummer that puts out some quality stuff -- also check out his side band Galactic. The metal band Corrosion of Conformity had him in as a studio drummer on their last album, which might be the best album they've recorded.
Stanley Clarke is an extraordinary bass player.
Speaking of bass players, there's Weather Report featuring the marvelous Jaco Pastorius.
Another bass player that I need to listen to more of as well is Marcus Miller -- this is the only thing I've heard by him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWg6iB0Evj0
Frank Zappa has written 3 jazz albums in Hot Rats, The Grand Wazoo and Waka/Jawaka.

I believe a young Al DiMeola was in Weather Report as well, if I'm not mistaken.
