Well they changed up the way new york city was destroyed, and a few little things here and there. Theres supposed to be a big giant squid that is teleported and explodes in the middle of the city, and the world gets skeered of aliens.

Thats exactly why it was changed. The books ending was a little out there.

haha well im glad they changed it a little, a giant squid exploding in the middle of a city wouldnt end the movie well
