Had to start a new thread, didnt really fit in "UFC 100predictions" thread.
UFC 100, drew a soldout crowd estimated at 11,000 and – assuming the preliminary figures hold up – the second-largest gate in UFC history with $5.1 million in ticket sales. Fighters such as Lesnar and St. Pierre also earn a portion of the pay-per-view revenue. In fact, Lesnar reportedly will make approximately $3 million from the fight even before the majority of his sponsorship money is tallied.
Bonus awards: Fighters were awarded $100,000 bonuses.
Fight of the Night: Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher
Knockout of the Night: Dan Henderson
Submission of the Night: Tom Lawlor
Maincard:
Jon Fitch: $90,000 (includes $45,000 win bonus) def. Paulo Thiago: $8,000
Brock Lesnar: $400,000 (no win bonus) def. Frank Mir: $45,000
Georges St-Pierre: $400,000 ($200,000 win bonus) def. Thiago Alves: $60,000
Dan Henderson: $250,00 ($150,000 win bonus) def. Michael Bisping: $150,000
Yoshihiro Akiyama: $60,000 ($20,000 win bonus) def. Alan Belcher: $19,000

Just blows me away....3 million for Lesner?!! These payouts are crazy! The locker room bonuses at the top are not calulated into the maincard payout. I'd agree on who won the bonuses.
It's a growing sport for sure. At the end of the day, it's buisness about making money. As much as I hate Lesnar, I still watched the PPV.

For the PPV draw the UFC makes, thats peanuts for the fighters. Boxers make over 5x's that. Dana White is a cheap bastard.

The days of million dollar payouts are not far off. With Anderson Silva talking about making the move to pro boxing and Fedor already making insane money, it's a matter of time before the rest of the sport follows suit.

lol I would put my money on JKD
he most likely dislikes lesnar because of his lack of training in martial arts and his blatant disrespect for the arts and the sport in general.

Well.. what he does works for him. He just beat one of the alleged best submission experts in the heavyweight division. Not only beat him, but kept his hips and shoulders on the ground and knocked him out on the ground. Those who want to rant about the lack of skill Lesnar has aren't really saying much for jujitsu. Royce himself has stated jujitsu has nothing to do with size or strength of an opponent. Is he wrong?

No not at all. Lesnar did what he had to do. He's slowly proving himself. Laying on the guy and pounding him isn't the most technical, exciting way of winning, but it's effective. I still don't like the guy and what he brings in attitude to the sport.

Matt Hughes did it for a few years. Boring as hell, but he won a lot of fights like that

Yup, he did. He also didnt evolve and got left behind with only the "UFC Hall Of Fame" to look forward to. At least Hughes added a few submissions to his game. Do you see Lesnar ever trying to go for an armbar? lol.
Besides, I dunno if you saw it or not, but Mir exposed a chink in Lesnar's armor. Lesnar is afraid of getting hit, turns his head away and freezes up. So it looks like Fedor's odds went up just a little bit. ;)

Those payouts are dog shit. Screw Dana White, I really hope The UFC goes under now. And people thought Don King was shady...
The payout to De La Hoya for LOSING to mayweather was $52 MILLION. That is 130X what Lesnar received. I know that's the highest recorded, but there's still many accounts of millions per fight for boxers.
Why do you guys want these fighters to make boxing money? I'm just curious. In my opinion, that kind of money is precisely why boxing is in the predictiment that it is. It becomes more about the money, rather then the sport itself. Boxing is so amazingly corrupt the sport is forver ruined.
No doubt in time, the fighters will make more money as the sport grows even further, but $52 million for one fight is down right ridiculous.

The corruption came from organized crime not from large fight purses.
As long as there's gambling, there will be attempts at corruption.

I think there's a larger gambling scene when it comes to boxing. Maybe it's just down here that boxing isn't that popular. Like Baseball VS. Football. I dunno.
Fuck Brock Lesnar is all I can say.

Probably because he didn't grow up using any of the disciplines he's being trained in now. Wrestling is a whole different animal regarding attitude.
Just like honing in on his MMA skills it would seem he will have to train on his attitude as well. It's either that or UFC will now have a Mike Tyson on their hands.

That was one of my thoughts also. IF Bisping would have won, with the win bonus, he would have made 300k, thats almost what Lesner/GSP made for defending titles.
45k for MIR also seems low compared to other challengers but I don't understand how some of these guys get paid.

Probably goes up per round.
Alves deserved more for going all 5 rounds.

This is more along my train of thought. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Lesnar beat Mir's ass. I saw quite a bit of intelligence on Lesnar's part in that fight.
Body blow, body blow, face. Mir got pummeled on the ground where he does best.
Lesnar started to feed into Mir's trap of moving around, but quickly regrouped himself. That takes discipline when you think you've got him beat. He's young in the sport. He'll only get better. When he does, it'll take something serious to beat him, or a mistake.

LOL he got caught, and it was a shock but he isn't afaird of getting hit. you just hate that a guy with almost 0 martial arts can come in and beat the shit out those that are more well rounded fighters. the only guy he has left to beat is fedor but that is not likely to happen, the fight that is, so why bother mentioning it.

What the hell do you mean all he has left is fedor??? There is still an entire heavyweight division in the ufc to go through!!! Now if he beats all there is to beat then maybe you can say that but he fought 3 heavyweights and theres no one left......? C'mon thats retarded!

well he beat the "best" heavyweights in UFC. I am just going by all the so called experts in here and the announcers during the last fights.

He still has Shane Corwin to go through, possibly Gabriel Gonzaga/Congo... Congo has the strength to get off the ground against lesnar without much fear of being submitted, might be able to force the guy to stand up and trade blows.
Oh, and dare I say it... Kimbo Slice. Kimbo vs. Lesnar... there's a Hollywood fight made in heaven!
Big Nog is still not a complete can...he could give Lesnar trouble.
