I was looking around today and ran across this...... What got me was that the add says it was won in an auction?????? Anyone know what the deal is? I guess I have been under a rock lately.

I've seen that car in person many times, it is as nice as they get. I bet they got that car for half of what they are asking. Maybe a bit more.

Iwas told there was some friends of his there driving the price up. I was told it went for around 100k i don't know how true this is but they got the other cars cheep

That car was one of the best looking cars around. TOP NOTCH craftsmanship and attention to detail. I'd bet he paid Kim Smith $150,000.00 or more for it all said and done.

He paid 130k for it. Another prominent racer was biding against him and quit at 120k.

Thats all that they had of "candymans",not sure if they had the toter and trailer there....rick thorton was trying to buy it but he could have a brand new car built for what this car was bought for

Yeah he should be getting his back eventualy. Just heard someone else lost most of thier stuff the same candy man did, wasn;t sure if it was all sold yet or not.

Thats a good car, will 60' with the best of them and drives like a caddy. I wish I could have got that car, there is a long history with it going back almost 20 years. That's one of the few cars that actualy has some sentimental value to me.

andy bought it from darrel,has a brand new magnesium rear end in it too....they put a 572 that came out of rolands nova in it....should run good,went 5.02 in that heavy ass nova

Why would they change the rear end? It already had that bd ass Mark williams aluminum rear end in it.

They just sold the car and trailer at the auction. I was told that the Fed's kept the motor home to use as a comand post.

Was all sold to different people from what I heard from people at the auction. Heard the car went for 130k, toter for 60k, and the trailer for 28k.

Who ever bought that car might as well run the shit out of it and get some enjoyment from it. I seriously dought they will get their money back on it let alone make a profit. It's bad timming to spend that much on a car built for that class.

There was a guy out at cedar creek a few weeks ago that bought a monte carlo ss backhalf car ,open trailer and a bad a$$ custom candy blue dually from that auction and said it all belonged to the candyman.
The toter was not at the auction, only the car and trailer. The car and trailer did go to different people.
