Had to take the carpet out, 8 years of kid and animal abuse (it was nasty). I wanted to try the concrete paint I was worried I would have wasted all that time but I think i like it. Painted the walls black (still need to get some drapes and a rug).
Couldnt get a shot of just the floor, damn camera wouldnt focus. there are a few cracks in the concrete that give it more character.
Floor paint $15
Wall paint $25
Supplies $30
Result....

Etching/cleaning the concrete was a pain. But worth it. I was originally looking at wood floor but too damn expensive, the cheapest i priced it out would have been $250. And the color options at that price were piss poor

Thanks. figured I would post it in case there was anyone else thinking of painting a concrete floor, that staining process looked to difficult. I will have to do the garage next.

Got a push broom and poured some etch along with some water and started srubing (took about an hour to clean there was quite a bit of paint on the concrete from when the sprayed the room when they built it) after it dried I rolled the paint on and walked away (whole process took 2 hours including the clean up dry time)....though it takes 48 hours for the paint to dry. Only used 3/4 of the gallon. (one gallon will cover 500 sq ft, so it says) this room is only a 11X13, i went a little thick just because it will get beat to death.
or are you referring to the stain. I only looked at the steps online, i think there were 11 or 12 and it was a lot more expensive (but would have looked better i am sure) I was only interested in cheap

Thanks. I was surprised how well it turned out to be honest.
I might experiment with the kids rooms with some designs on the floor, then knock out the living room when i think i have it down. This stuff is cheap enough, and floor is nice and cool in here to boot.
