Just got done installing my new river rock tile floor in the master bathroom. It turned out pretty good. Used alot more grout than I thought it would

Wow, that looks good.
First time doing it? How is it done? Just a bunch of grout and stick in rocks???

Different for sure! Does it hurt the feet after a while?

Yep, first time. It actually comes in 12x12 tiles. The rocks are individual, glued to a mesh backing. It lays in just like tile without all the cutting. Put down the mortar, set the rock mesh, then grout. The cool thing is that you can set the grout depth so you can have more or less stone showing.

I rented a cabin in Montana last year and it had this in the bathrooms. I kinda dug it, so I figured why not since I had to replace the floor anyway. From the looks of it, you'd think that it would hurt your feet. But, it actually has a massaging effect.

I like that. Might give that a shot on a floor we're gonna re-do at our place. Nice work!

We had that in our house in Hawaii. Seal the grout immediately with a good sealer twice. We liked the look but hated the cleaning and feeling. Dirt gets stuck and its a pain to sweep. The grout was dirty as hell right away and then after a while with the large gaps it starts to hurt your feet. You will learn a path to follow or will be grinding and polishing stones that are out of whack or chip.

If we did it a gain we would mortar the floor pour rainbow rock on it and then wait for it to dry. Then pour the grout and float it flat so that it is smooth on top. That should reduce the maintenance and feel of the bumps.

Good luck it is a nice look.
