All of a sudden my connection stops working...
So I run cmd
then i type ipconfig/release
then i type ipconfig/renew
and it works perfectly again. what could be causing this?

Not sure, but always safe to try and update any drivers, or uninstall and reinstall any programs used to use your internet service.

Most likely it is a client issue. As mentioned, driver upgrades. What have you installed/changed in the last week. Do not say nothing, you changed something. :)

You could always just give your client a static IP, then you won't have to release and renew.

You must be behind a router with old firmware.

Try plugging directly into the cable modem and see if you have any problems.

Think this might be it as I had to redo my computer since I got a virus last week. I am updating drivers right now
