I knew Brazil was gunna come out hard after an embarrassing 1st half, but that D of ours was worse than usual. It collapsed like school girl at a Jonas Brothers concert.
It may be our best finish ever in a real tourney, but it feels like one of the worst losses:frown:

Us lost 4-2
Us lost 4-2
3-2 but yeah that non goal call was really a goal.
I was pretty excited after a 2-0 lead at half but 2 mins into the 2nd I just had that sinking feeling. :frown:

In all honesty we shouldn't have been there statistically. The US did well, the offense was still lacking that certain instinct great teams have, but they played the ball alot better than previous games. The D however was average for America which is really subpar for the world stage.:( Thank God we have a great goalie or it could have been ugly
Brazil absolutely seemed to dominate the US in the 2nd. I had that glimmering hope maybe the US would step up and be a world power to worry about in soccer soon, but man the 2nd half looked like they didn't deserve to be on that field.
Hope they do well in the World cup down the road and take the next step.

Still a ways away if it ever happens...:sadwavey:
Donovan is good, but not Capt material for a world class team. Our offense is severely lacking the attitude it's gunna take to win the big games. Our defense....well yea our D sucks and pretty much always has.

If Bradley had been available today, I'd venture to say that the US likely wins this game. Against Spain, Bradley was making timely tackles left and right in the defensive 1/3rd that really enabled the US to play up a little more comfortably.
However, due to a completely questionable (and by that I mean 'bullshit') red card called against Bradley in the game against Spain, he was unavailable and the US was considerably weaker on defense. Once Brazil figured out that this US team wasn't quite the joke everyone thought them to be they snapped into desperation mode and the US D couldn't handle it.
An impressive performance none-the-less, especially after that god awful start. Now they've got to focus on securing the number one seed in CONCACAF play to put themselves in a good position heading into the World Cup.

it was a hell of a comeback from brazil on the 2nd half. It's like at the half they switched suckyness.

going into the half with a 2-0 lead and then losing 3-2 is totally unacceptable!! it's embarrassing! but the defense was nonexistent! showing how the win over spain was more like a fluke! hopefully with our youth growing everyday we could possible change the way we play and are looked at from the rest of the world in like 10-15 years!!!!! hehehe

Guys, truth be known, Brazil is just that much better. USA was fortunate to even get there. If you watch the game, even when the US scored, Brazil was faster on/off the ball. The US got tired the second half. That first half was all emotion. Unfortunately, that eventually runs out.

Exactly, I wouldn't have wanted to be a Brazilian player going to the lockerrooms at the half. Dunga probably chewed their ass so bad that they were scared of getting killed if they lost. Going down 2-0 to America if you're any of the premier countries is humiliating. We're not horrible, but no matter how good we get the world will ALWAYS hate us on the field.

Bradley is one of the few players on USA that has what theyre lacking...an instinct to play hard and attack. USA will never be a premier team until they find that and another Defensive leader like Eddie Pope.
That being said, Brazil is still one of the most loaded teams in the world right now. That FIFA ranking of 5 doesn't do justice to what they're capable of.
