Would that be good for shows? That is a lot cheaper than I thought a setup could be. How was the sound besides "loud as shit." lol

What kind of venues are you playing? If you're going to be playing through house PA's, then loudness is not going to be an issue at all. You'll want to have it turned way down low anyway to be mic'd.

Two of the best sounding setups I've ever heard came from 2x12 Gallien-Krueger setups. The cabs were a little different, but both sounded fantastic. I don't remember specifics on either cabinet, but I've got nothing but good things to say about Gallien-Krueger.

However, I will say this: if you're going to cut costs somewhere, cut it on the cab. Some might disagree, but I feel your money is much better spent on a nice head than on a nice cab.

I have to aggree, if you are playing in clubs you really don't need a huge setup. Now I know it gives the wow factor, but it doesn't do shit for sound. Same goes for the guitar player, he could have a full stack but that don't mean shit when he amped up at the show. His shit will be turned down also. I used to have a damn nice bass setup once upon a time. Ended up selling it about 4 years ago. Picked up my bass for the first time in probably 3 years last night. Damn I my fingers don't work for shit anymore.

i played two shows with my setup, the first show i didn't need a mic and the second i used the direct out on the back of the head which made the sound guy happy.

and i'll agree with slowhand on the cutting corners on the cab and not the head. the head will be one of the more important things, aside from you guitar of course.

I bought a fender head that my buddy said was good for 175 bucks. It's a little beat up and I need to fix the knobs but ht says it works good. It is suppose to be 350W. I was reading up and this should be decent enough I think. Going to guitar center and buying a cab today!

I got the acoustic b200h head and the acoustic b410 amp. Plenty of sound for what I need and has a nice tone!!!
