Lots like a decent size home. I like the trees too in the area, the house is kinda tucked into the trees.

Looks good so far, keep us updated!

We found 5 acres out in Azle. It is ALL trees. I'll dig up some pics of what it looked like before we started. We tried to save as many trees as we could.

Its 3100sqft, with a bonus room above the garage. Its going to look alot like this house. We're using brick in place of shingles.

Thanks bro. What's the deal with this phase you've heard?

I can imagine the anxiety while waiting for the house to be complete, but overall it's a pretty cool process.

LOL. You only have you to worry about. Try doing it with a wife, and a kid or two. You experience that exact phase when remodeling also.

Lol, all I heard last night was bickering because I picked out the shingle color without her approval!!!! It's only going to get worse from here. I've been trying to talk her into a pool table, but I'm pretty sure its a no go.

I bought a rug for our living room, without the bag's approval a while back. Get this.... She loved the rug itself, but was fucking furious that I bought it without her. I was at the store picking up some shit, saw it, had a fair price, so I nabbed it.

You'd have thought I blew a load in her eyes while she was asleep or something.

After a few months fighting with the bank, we finally got moving on it.

Trouble with construction financing these days...no way!

I've decided, that I'm not going to try and build a house unless I can just write a check, and I'm in the business.

I buy what I want, when I want. I'm also bringing in 3 friends. My total bills for mortgage+utilities is $150 a month.

Looks good. ONE of my complaints on my house was I did not pay extra for a wooded lot.

Care to share on the "fighting with the bank" details? Also you will get into an argument over the house with the old lady sooner or later. They have not even poured our slab yet and we have already had it out on where the sofa is going. We are supposed to close in late Sept.

It took the bank 3 months to actually let us know they were going to do the loan. Then they called 3 days before closing to tell us the land didn't appraise for what we said...and we needed to bring an extra 15k to closing. We were already bringing 15k. The land appraised for 55k according to them. I basically told her if they couldn't get the appraisal to 70k, then they could send our paper work back. Few hours later....they got it to appraise. We had also spent around 20k out of our pocket...clearing the land, building the pad and putting in a well. Come to find out...none of that stuff even added to the value.

I was told, banks don't care if you qualify...its if you default, they want to know they can get their money back.

Few updated pics. They didn't come close to getting it done...I'm guessing it'll take another week at least.

I could have told you that much, lol.
The borrower is the only one that cares what they qualify for.
All banks care about is credit scores and their equity into their collateral(notice I said their, and not yours).

The home looks good so far...one question though,
Where's the keg of Mich Ultra going to go???
:)

If you need any help with anything, just give me a shout(remember what I do for a living).
