thats good news, its getting AWFUL reviews from the critics. I read one that was baffled that the human characters werent more important....that was EXACTLY what was wrong with the first one...too much focus on the stupid humans when they are giant robots running around!
I mean the idea that humans could take out transformers with off the shelf ammo from a hand held grenade launcher was the stupidest shit ive ever seen. Why didnt the autobots just leave cause obviously the military were more than capable of handling them, that is NOT how they are supposed to be. Get that jackass shia off the screen, megan is hot but i can look at pics all day of her ass online and tell the effing story!

That's just dumb. If that's the case, why did Star Trek get such good reviews?

Just so you know, this is a note on the characters "Mudflap & Skidz", two twin Autobots that sound like bad racial stereotypes, can't read, have gold teeth, etc...
"The amount of foul language popping out of their mouths is astonishing, especially with the shit, bitch, muther..., ass, pussy, etc..."

Last night on the news they were talking about thsoe characters, and how some people are already throwing out the racial stereotype card. Apparently someone involved with the film came out and said that these chartacters aren't supposed to represent racial stereotypes at all, but were instead introduced to appeal to kids. Nice!

First off I don't like movie critics...I rather listen to the opinion of regular folks about a movie and make my judgment then as to whether I wan to see it or not.
The only problem I had with the first movie was...Megan Fox would have been dressed even more skimpy...the chase seen between Bumblebee and Barricade I thought could have been a little longer, I was pumped when I the chase first started but ended to quickly.

I liked both. The second has more yapping in the first half but also has some good action scenes. The special effects are awesome! This movie would have been an "R" had they masked the "f" word hundred times lol. Its definitely not for kids. Lots of new Transformers like the constructicons forming devastator, RC, Soundwave etc

I saw it today with my 10 year old son. All I can say is any show that is sold out at a 12 screen theatre with it playing on 4 screens, and is sold out 5 to 6 shows in advance is probably a lot better than any critic says.
I figure all the critics are just ticked because Megan turned them down, especially the dork from Rolling Stone. She gave him the wrong phone number in all likelihood and he gave the movie a bad review for it.

Sucked to walk out and find my buddy's truck broken in to and having to wait an hour and 15 for APD to show, but such is life. If you find a cheap Glock 19C for sale, it's probably his.

no mention of the coke machine or the escalade ( I believe it was only the steering wheel ) in the new movie. But I'm sure there are a few robots that got taken care of between movies, I really can't say anything more without giving out parts of the new movie. Here's what I didn't like about the movie.
1. They spent way too much effort on the story line, Transformers being here before, The Fallen getting revenge, government agencies, military, etc. Would have been much better if the Decepticons regrouped and came back for Megatron and revenge. Nothing more than that needed.
2. Too many lines from people. The roommate should have been left out totally. He added nothing to the movie, made it worse I thought.
3. No robot character introductions. One of the cool things about the Transformers as a kid was their niche and different personalities. None of that made it into the movie. Well other than Megatron, Prime and some Starscream.
I think the sequel was still OK, but not as good as the original. It did not flow well and seemed to go different directions at times.

We're talking about kids here, goofball. An 8 year old doesn't even have a mancard yet.
Probably why the movie is rated PG-13 and not G. You know, parental guidance recommended for kids under the age of 13. That 8 year old didn't get up and go watch the movie himself.

I agree with this completely, and as far as going different directions what was that huge screwup when they were at the smithsonian and then he kicks down the door of the hanger and all of a sudden they were in the boneyard in arizona? complete with mountains in the background, anyone else catch this?

Nope. They were at the museum in Washington then went straight to egypt. Remember them sitting by that pyramid or whatever when Megan Fox was talking to Sam about how nobody else could be his boyfriend? That was in Egypt, then they saw the three stars pointing down toward a mountain range so they drove there and that's where they found the temple thing where the "boneyard" was.

Ok. Well at no point were they in Arizona. They were inside of the museum, then they were outside of it. You keep planes like the SR-71 Blackbird inside the museum.
From what I understand they were actually at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. A branch of the Smithsonian Museum of Air and Space. I can't remember if in the MOVIE the building they showed from the outside was the SFUHC or the Smithsonian main building. But I don't nitpick about that shit because it's a MOVIE about GIANT ROBOTS beating the shit out of eachother. It's not supposed to be real.

Well no shit. The bigger issue is that without the language, it probably wouldn't have to be PG-13. So why are they throwing that shit in a movie about a line of toys marketed at sub-13 year old kids?

Alright poopnut lets not get off track of why i originally posted my comment, it was to say how much the movie was skipping around aimlessly.
With that said that was still a stupid mistake on the MOVIES part i mean think about it. They pull up to the museum (where i know you keep a plane like the blackbird) and it is all green grass and concrete (no mountains in the background) and when they crash through the back of the very same building they are in a desert boneyard with mountains behind them. And i know there was no mention of Arizona but that is where that plane boneyard is. I mean i know it is a MOVIE about GIANT ROBOTS AND IT IS NOT REAL but you think they could give us a little credit.

And Blake, the movie isn't targeted towards kids that are under 13. It's targeted at the audience that were kids when the toys and tv show originally came out, who are well above the age of 13.

That's just dumb. If that were the case, they need to make it R rated and have Fox take out her cans. Obviously, they're counting on people our age, since we were kids when it came out, but take a trip through the toy aisle at WalMart or Target right now. It's loaded with Transformers toys more than it was in the 80's, and they're all from the movie. Do you think the majority of those are being bought by/for people over 13?
Really, this is nothing new. Do you remember when the animated movie came out back in the day? My little kid mind was blown when Spike said "shit" on screen. I bet my parents weren't thrilled about that one.
I'm not saying it's the end of the world, and honestly, I think there can be good reason for strong language, even in something that could be considered kid-centric. That being the case, let's make sure it's there for a reason, and not just needless cussing for shock value.
I still haven't seen this movie, not because I don't want to. I just haven't been able to get a baby sitter and get away for a couple hours.

It's PG-13 so more people can see it. No kid gave a shit about transformers toys UNTIL the movie came out. Once again, it's a movie that suggests you use parental guidance and below that big PG-13 it will say why it is rated what it is. I'm willing to be that "language" was put in there.

this movie isnt geared towards kids. yes its transformers but its more of adult humor. more of the cursing comes from the twins and other characters. a lot of it dialogues i heard didnt really require that much cursing. it was funny at first but it got boring after a while. clearly michael bay wasnt gearing the movie towards kids from what i saw.

I didn't think the twins were funny at all. It was almost like whoever wrote the script was really reaching for something and pushing the "black" humor too much. I wasn't offended by it at all though.

they did push it with the twins. no originality on that part. there were a lot of things like that the movie couldve done without. if they couldve tried to stick with a good story line and left out the unecessary bs it wouldve been even better. as far as the adult humor goes, if bay was going in that direction then why not just make rated r. why not just make it stricly adult themed? it seems its heading in that direction anyways.

The fact that the toy line has been in constant production since the 80's would seem to contradict this point. I like you man, but you really seem to be talking out of your ass on this subject.

It may not be geared towards kids in content, it's certainly marketed toward them and therefore probably should take that audience into consideration.
FWIW, I'm not on some censorship bandwagon, and I don't think a little salty language is going to totally pervert a kid. It's just that I don't respect the wanton disregard for the audience. A little responsibility in film making would be nice.

I personally do not have kids so I don't think that either of us can 100% understand where the other is coming from, but...to be blunt, there is a rating system for movies (that most people, including me ignore) that is supposed to give you at least a little heads-up of what you can expect.
In all honesty, I was born in 84 and transformers wasn't the hype so I never owned a transformers toy. Until the recent movies started comeing out, I really never gave a shit about them...except for the show "Beast Wars." I watched that religiously in middle school.

They're in a field, not a desert behind the hangar. He carves the symbols into the grass, not sand and the Jetfire or whatever his name is teleports them to the Egyptian desert. The bodies go flying everywhere and the one kid is like "We're in Vegas!" but soon after than, Jetfire informs them that he teleported them to Egypt.

Dude, it was rated PG-13. There's absolutely nothing in the movie that would warrant a higher rating than that. What's the problem?
It didn't need cussing. It didn't need the drug use. It didn't need the sexual stuff. But those were thrown in, pushing it to a PG-13 rating. Without those, it would have been PG, and would have been much more obviously marketed towards children. Don't you think that if the people in charge wanted to get a bunch of kids seeing the movie, that they would have gone that route instead? Personally, I wish it would have been R rated or at least pushed the limits of the PG-13. I don't think this movie was too risque or offensive unless you are way too uptight, or under the age of maybe 7 or 8.

Saw it tonight, movie was all over the fucking place. My GF said she was totally confused. They filmed the action way to close so it was hard to see what was going on plus it gave me a headache. Cool that they added more transformers but when they are just no name extras who cares, the original transformers all had names and personalities.
I was glad to see the humans get their asses kicked since super hero army guys with hand held grenade launchers taking out transformers was fucking stupid.
Glad that guy john turtirro, who isnt funny at all, had a much smaller part. His character sucks and is pointless. For a movie that long it could have been epic but it felt instead like a 5 hour movie cut and spliced into a 2.5 hour one. Maybe once the DVD comes out and i watch it again ill have a different view of it but my opinion was.....ehhh.

Kid finds he has sliver of cube, he starts seeing shit, decepticons revive megatron, megatron wants to destroy earth, again...That's not difficult to follow IMO...
