Im a politics noob but i am trying to learn. Everyone should learn, i think we can all agree on that. So here, help me out. I would like to put what i know about these groups out here, and i would like for you to add anything that you think i left out. Now let me say this... do not use any of your bias. I do not care which one you are, and i do not need opinions of any kind. I am only looking for the reality of the situation, nothing more.



Democrat:

1. One of the two parties.

2. Usually associated with people who are thought to be "liberals"

Republican:

1. The other of the two parties

2. Usually associated with people who are thought to be "conservative"


Liberals believe:

1. That there is need for change in the system, tilt towards socialism.

2. That the environment is under immediate threat. Action needs to be taken now to prevent disaster on a global scale.

3. Homosexuals should be allowed to marry. They believe ruling against this infringes upon "the pursuit of happiness".

4. Guns should be outlawed. They are involved in too much crime/violent crime. This would take out a key tool used in criminal activities, and thus drastically reduce the crime rate in the U.S.

5. The borders should be opened up. The refugees cant get help anywhere else and need our help/support/protection.

6. Generally Atheist.

Conservatives Believe:

1. That there is no need for change in the system. Things are generally thought of as "fine the way they are". Tilt towards Capitolism.

2. There is no immediate threat to the environment. There may be some, but it is negligible. Some small efforts should be taken, but money should not be wasted in this area.

3. Homo's shouldn't marry. Believes that marriage "is between a man and a woman."

4. Believes that every American should have or own a gun to defend themselves, and that current restrictions on guns are a violation of the constitution.

5. The borders should be closed. Believes that every nation has it's problems, and that we should deal with ours and they should deal with theirs, instead of fleeing to the united states.

6. Generally religious.



Now, please add anything to the list that you think i may have left out. Remember, NO BIAS! Think of it how a robot would, with no emotion or preference.

Neither party represent the people or constitution any more. And have not for a long time. They just appease the people as long as it does not inter fear with what they want.

Believes in big government, the constitution is a suggestion, and rules are "relative".

Drives a prius, or rides a bicycle to work.

Wants to bring in as many illegals as possible and offshore as much as possible to lower labor costs and increase profits.

Plays fast and loose with the financial markets.

Bible thumps when it suits them.

Believes in smaller government, the constitution, and the rule of law.

Wouldn't that be nice? But of course you know that over time, a countries government will develop. All countries start small. Not saying i agree with it, just that it was inevitable. It would be great if our government had very little power. They just served the people, and that's it. Maybe in some way, they think that is what they are trying to do.

Most of the southern people I know that are democrats feel abandoned by their party, are pretty religious (or very in the case of that new liberal JC:D) and tend to align more with conservative principles (not the GOP).

The democrat party has been taken over by the extreme left and what they have accomplished is dragging the republicans closer to the center which makes them be viewed as idealistic and principled - even though they are fucking insane. This is also the reason that passionate people who 100% believe what they believe will always have followers because the majority of citizens lack the passion to believe and align themselves with a 'voice'

I do see a possibility that both parties have rendered themselves totally irrelevant in the minds of voters and that a new 3rd party might begin to gain some power.

Many people see little difference between the 2 parties, and see them as being corrupt, pandering to the people writing the biggest checks and hijacked/sold out to various interests with money.

That is certainly true for me. Next president should be that guy from the "Taxpayers Party". Now that would be interesting. But it wont happen, cause then something would probly change for the better. You hit the nail on the head with this, at least for me. I think that they may as well be the same party in terms of corruption. Sigh... maybe the south should have won. Then all the little lily faggits could have their own country, and not try to run ours. Course we would still have slaves, so that part would suck.

Um....... Yeah, unless your in the minority that is excited about the U.S. becoming a communist country. Or you approve of the death of capitalistic economy. Or you want bigger government to control more of your life.

Sorry I don't hang out with the Communist left, so I know no-one that wants this.
