... You left so much out...

How tall are you? What are your goals? How often do you eat? How old are you?

The easy way out of this is to just say ... Eat your heart out!!! When I used to bulk I'd eat 5 times a day to the point in which I couldn't really eat anymore. This was carrying a full work schedule...

You must be freaking tall to weight 240 and worry about possibly getting fat...

You may add a little body fat anytime that you add weight, just comes with the territory unless you're taking something. I'm taking a gainer right now called "real gains" and it's pretty good stuff, I've put on about 9 lbs over the last month. The main thing to remember with any protein or weight gain supplement is that you should be using it to supplement your diet, not as a way to less meals but still get your calories in.

As for choosing a gainer, I would make sure to stay away from those that have an insane amount of sugars or fats as the primary source of calories, you want a lot of those calories coming from the protein and complex carbs.

im actually taking maximum cla from gnc. it helps with energy and metabolism . works very well.. so would this be ok to stack with the weight gainer? or do you think it would keep the weight gain off? then on another note.... burning fat and muscle are 2 separate things right?

There's been a good amount of evidence showing the benefits of CLA, but if you are looking to stay as lean as possible, a weight gainer is going to do the opposite. Weight gainers are for the guys with single digit bodyfat and super high metabolism. Being 6'1 and 240, you more than likely aren't either of those. Just use a good quality protein and eat an ass load of lean protein, like Chicken/Turkey breast, and non fatty fish.

To answer this question, when you say weight gainer, do you mean shakes or pills?

Some people can get results with 3 workouts per week, but anytime you aren't seeing what you want, you should modify your diet and workouts before trying to find a supplement to bridge the gap. Try upping the workouts to 5 per week. It would also help to know what your workouts are.

No I absolutely do, cause I have been there and I'm 6'1.. I just think the question is kind of odd. If I was to guess, without seeing pictures, I'd guess you to be 13-17% bf NissanX

Which then "weight gainer" shouldn't really be used to try and reach his goals..
