Not sure if this has been posted before, but this track, an 1/8th. mile track, was running some fast cars and the racing got pretty hairy :scared: at the top end.

That track is owned by Matt Hagens father in Radford, VA. We were scheduled to race there this year again, and a lot of drivers were refusing to return due to all of the crashes. So our race July 3/4 will be at Topeka, KS.
the biggest issue is there is no room for error on that track, plus the elevation is high, so the chutes do not have much air to hit as hard. Another bad thing was the hill, it is very deceiving. When you top it, you better be swinging out to the left to make your turn.
Oh and Kenny/ ADRL are being sued by said track for pulling out. But I was at the drivers meeting when all of the drivers were assured by the track owner it would be lengthened by 200-300 ft and it was not

or is it that ADRL is getting sued

After witnessing the mayhem first hand there is no doubt in my mind that ADRL Pro Mods should NOT run at Radford with the current shut down. There is room to stop if everything goes right but there is no room for error. In my opinion it is not just the length but the crest of the hill that make it so dicy. Of course i am just a camera man and I don't know shit.

ADRL/ Kenny Nowling (Owner of ADRL) are getting sued. They had a contract good for one more year.
Here is a quote from Kenny
Several factors have contributed to the success and growth of the present day ADRL; however, without doubt the most important one is you, our series’ stars. As the men and women who compete in and have supported the ADRL over the past five years, you are absolutely the most important component of our company and its future.
That’s not why you are some of the most important people in my life, though. The reason is that collectively you guys and gals are my heroes. The courage you display in risking your lives so that I can make a living doing what I love is overwhelming to me and I want each and every one of you to know just how humbled I am to even be a part of this.
So with that said I offer no apology for relocating the Hardee’s Independence Drags III from Radford, Virginia to Topeka, Kansas. There has been and will continue to be plenty of speculation as to why the event was moved, but let me be perfectly clear, there was one reason only: YOUR SAFETY!
I will take whatever I have coming in both the judicial court and the court of public opinion because I know I can never go wrong when I make a decision based one-hundred percent on your safety.
Did we have one event remaining on our contract with Motor Mile Dragway? Yes we did, and Paragraph (a) of that contract, under track obligations, reads as follows: “A racing surface, including shut down and run off, that is in such a condition as to allow safe and competitive racing.” When I signed that contract in 2007, I felt Motor Mile Dragway met that obligation. However, it became evident during last year’s event that it may no longer be the case.
After watching run after run of highly skilled ADRL drivers and riders making unsafe maneuvers in trying to get their race vehicles stopped I knew something had to be done. Not only did I tell our competitors that we would not be back unless additional shutdown was added, I also informed the same to management at Motor Mile Dragway and was told it would be addressed. The only reason I waited so long to relocate the event was that I was hoping the track’s length would be increased. Only when it became evident it would not, a letter was sent to their management informing them of our decision to relocate the event. As I stated before, I will never regret making a decision based solely on your safety.
In closing, I want all of you to know that your safety will always be my first priority no matter what the consequences are for me personally or professionally. After all, you are my heroes!

Also one of the cars that went off the end, that nearly hit the light pole was Josh Hernandez (sponsored by National Gaurd) to my understanding, NG pushed for this also! Remember they are a big money player in the ADRL.

amen.
LOL at all those fucks on YB saying "so and so had no problems" ... "they are hitting the chutes too late" etc..
From that video, damn near EVERY car that initiated the wreck was in the LEFT LANE. Damn near EVERY car that bounced WAS IN THE LEFT LANE.
It also appeared that every car that hit the chutes late did it on purpose (in the left lane) to help keep it from bouncing?...and it's REALLY shitty that you have to use part of the turn around to scrub speed.
Fuck that place.
Edit - you can see that the shutdown is so bumpy by the shading of the asphalt (especially the view from the camera at the end of the track)
This reminds me of the track in Midland TX. After the finish line it goes up hill and it has very little shutdown room. The last time we raced there, there were 2 or 3 5.00/4.90 cars that went off the end of it. We had a hard time stopping running 5.30's pulling the chute at 600 foot. Penwell in Odessa is just the opposite. It has about a half mile of shutdown room. But don't pull off the return road. Lots of cactus on both sides of the return road.

Sadly thats a good argument although both just are not worth it.
That reminds me of Denton when it first opened. I ran a 5.28 at around 128 mph and went off the end of the track and slid completly around the ambulance and ended up halfway through that field. Loaded up and didn't go back untill they made it longer.

I'd be pissed to have that kind of money in a car only to be destroyed by a poor track.
I would think a countersuit could easily be put together, especially considering the shutdown was supposed to be addressed.
