Stock 5.0 times???

Just curious on what others have ran with there stock 5.0. Mabie even spray times on stock motor? Just looking to see if my car is running as good as it should.

That ran a 9. something

with a 50 shot it ran a 8.53

No a/c, p/s, or air pump.

I had a 1990 DPS stang with 150,000, 3.73 gears, wore out 8" slicks and a good tune up went 13.80's all day. I would bracket race that car and make it to at least to the qtrs every night. Oh it was a 5 speed also. I think I had more fun in that car than my others. Drive all week then drive to the track change tires race then go home.

That was me racing it. I missed second. It is a lot different than my car. It shifts good but I just wasn't used to it. I'm used to tall stock shifters lol

I know one thing. Once you get it running good on motor it will fly on bottle. It ran a 14.6 @ 93mph on motor and with a 125 shot it went 12.6 @ 109mph. lol That's a huge jump!

I think it's running about where it should. It's just heavy and you need to do those weight mods and all the free mods we talked about. Also I still think the rear end is not working right or the clutch isn't holding off the line. 1.7s on spray is weak.

Same setup for the most part. 125 shot and nittos. Best it ran was 7.7 that night.

Then same setup on MT et streets it went 7.47 @ 91.

After that I pilled it as much as it would go and did mt et drags and it went 7.18 94.00 I used to have that video on putfile but putfile is gone for some reason now.

Now it has cobra intake and K member and the only pass I have was a 7.25 at 94.25 with suspension problems and some crap weather. Havn't been back since.

But now it runs 8.4 at 83.4 mph on motor and street tires now compared to the 8.8 at 79-80 back in the day on drag radials just from all that little crap I did that you should do too.

Heres a vid of it just like how I ran it when I ran 8.49 @ 83.4 The TA went 8.8 @ 83.4 as well that night.

bone stock coupe with 100k miles went 14.2 @ 98mph. Added 3.55's, a pro-m meter for 19lb injectors, headers, h-pipe, underdrive pulley, shortbelt, and an electric fan and it went high 12's @ 106 mph.....8.2 @ 84mph in the 1/8th with a 1.69 60' on 26x10 slicks.

In the 1/8 mile I went 9.5 with a horrible 2.3 or 2.4 60ft in my basically stock 87' GT. I think I had shorty headers, offroad x, flowmasters, u/d pulleys, and a cold air intake. I don't remember the speed, other than slow.

Never ran it with the h/c/i swap. Oh well.

As Im waiting for my 363ci to be finished,I installed a stock e7 headed 302 w/150k miles and 76mm turbo,ran 6.70 at 101mph w/15 # boost.I will not push boost more than that due to probable block split,but very fun to drive around

I don't know a lot of about turbos but thats a good size turbo for a stock motor like that! That car moves out!

turbo has small exhaust housing .61 ar. This is a blow-thru carb set up,DYI turbo kit,done cheap as possible.C-4 helped,did have pro shifted doug nash 5 speed(tore up car every time I ran it).

It was hard to tell from where I sat. It's either that or the clutch isn't holding. Just from messing around in it in the pits that clutch doesn't feel like it engages very hard at all. I could kind of pop it out at low rpms and it wouldn't really jerk at all. It just felt funny off the line.

What 60 fts does yours usually run? Also it was hot as hell Friday night, I dont know if that would affect how the car runs

If we are talking about 5.0 mustang as a whole of course my stang doesnt look to be stock after 15 yrs of ownership,but it is still street legal and weight is 3100#s.I run a c-4 due to relibilty and being cost effective.After many 5-speed mishaps and even aod failures the c-4 has been favorite. I will retain stock 302 untill new engine is finished, I am building 363ci dart block, tfs headed w/101mm turbo and still run it on the street.

You can push stock blocks up approx 500-550hp before it splits,the rotating assem will take more abuse than the block,even with main support and valley girdles.Ive split 3 blocks all with different combos,turbo,nos and all motor.I have 2 blocks on stand by at all times,thankful to get a smoken deal on a dart block I can shed this crap out of my garage.

I had a bone stock 5.0 GT other then a B-Cam & it ran consistant 9.0s & got one 8.9 out of it on normal street tires! Im sure with a stock cam it would have done maybe 9.30s

A stock 5.0 5 speed car should be in the neighborhood of 9.1-8.9's. I know my 90 GT auto with only exhaust and 4.10 gears was running 9.20's all day long. A stock auto car, and I mean bone stock runs 10 flat to 9.90. If I remember right I was running 14.2's in the car with exhaust and gears. With a F cam edlebrock performer intake stock ported heads long tubes mass air 65 mm tb exhaust and 4.10 gears with a 5 spd and slicks, I hit a 8.1, full weight and with a short belt. and a 13.2 in the 1/4. Grape probly remembers yelling at me years ago that I was gonna blow it up lol.
