HELP!!! DVD Playback is Slow / Choppy

alright my 3 month old laptop was playing my dvd's just fine but now if you play it in win media player there is no sound but the video plays smooth and in the intervideo windvd it's just unwatchable from the choppy video and sound

Try www.videolan.org, VLC runs better than Media Player or WinDVD.
