how do i hook the ps3 upto my stereo

how can i hook my ps3 up to my home stereo? i have my hdmi cable going from the ps3 to the tv but i want to run audio through my stereo and cant figure out how. i tried just doing audio out and using the aux on the stereo but it didn't work so i dunno whats up.

You have to go to sound settings and activate the sound output you want to use. Are you using the analog audio, or digital audio?

Also, you can't have dual audio, it's either HDMI, Analog, or Digital.
