Now that ive laid the st augustine sod down, my old sprinkler heads are not popping up high enough. How difficult is it to put taller poping heads on? Anyone ever done this? If so, any specific heads you would go with?

You need to stick with the same style since they should have optimum coverage. you should be able to twist off the existing sprinklers and then take the nipple into HD or Lowes and find a longer one... Just be careful to not get tall enough that you damage the sprinkler head while mowing.

if you have to install taller ones, there are companies that make a plastic j-shaped pipe so you just dig the sprinkler itself lower, you dont have to lower the pvc

There are also extension pieces that you would insert between the current head and pvc.

Just been there, done that. Ck out Home Depot they have the cut to length nipples just for this. They are in 1" segments, cut to length you need.

FYI, better to be a little low than a little high for obvious reasons.

Yup... those 1" segmented extensions are great.
