It's for a Time Warner remote. Bought the new Sony Bravia LCD and I'd like to be able to use the one remote to turn on both my TV and Cable box plus be able to control the volume from the cable remote.
This is what the remote looks like.

You need the new black one...but these codes should work:
0000 - 0111
Set up TV
Turn TV on
Use the code list entitled TV Codes for Comcast Custom 3-Device Remote Controls to find the 4-digit code that corresponds to the TV to be programmed. (I already listed above)
On the remote, press and release the 'TV' key
On the remote, press and hold the 'SETUP' key until the mode key blinks twice. Release the 'SETUP' key
Enter the first listed 4-digit code (Sony - 0000 or 0111)
If this number is entered correctly and is an accepted TV code, the TV mode key will blink twice.
If the code is entered incorrectly or is not an accepted TV code, the TV mode key displays one long blink and exits programming mode.
Repeat the procedure with another device code.
Aim the remote control at the TV and press the 'POWER' key once.
The TV should turn OFF. If the TV did not turn off, repeat steps 1 to 6 until a working code is found.

Just spend the money and get an All-in-Wonder or whatever they are called (controlled 8 different devices with one remote). I got one a few years back, like $30 at Best Buy, controlled everything great. I later got a new TV and the codes did not work, called Tech Support and they sent the new codes over the phone. Just held the remote up to the phone and it sounded like a modem schreaching, sent the new codes and it worked like a chmap after I programmed the new numbers for the TV. One click to power everything on/off, it was greatness!

Thanks Grant, first code did it for me and it works perfectly now!
Rob, I've got a Harmony remote that I personally use. I have the regular remotes for the kids when they come over as I do not like them screwing around with a high dollar remote.

I have a harmony 880 and I hate the hell out of it. Doesn't work with my westy lcd so it's completely useless unfortunately, updated firmware, software, and run through every single way to approach programming it and nothing.

Well I've had no luck programming my Magnavox Plasma TV based on the 4 codes showing in the programming guide PDF I downloaded over the weekend. Guess I'll be going through the steps to find the right codes using the 991 after setup :(

Yessir! Unfortunately the kids have no idea what "high dollar" means and treats any of the remotes the same way. I can't tell you how many times I haven't even been able to find the remote because they stuck it somewhere and it take me a while to find it. Other times I've had sticky stuff on the remote from them eating and using the remote. Fuck that. It stays locked up now for my own personal use so only I can enjoy the convenience.

I've had pretty good luck with mine and love the fact that I can plug it up to my computer and configure buttons, features, and macros to do what I want. Sorry to hear about your problems. You should just sell me the remote cheap and be done with it :D

There really isn't any reason that remote shouldn't work for your tv. My buddy has a 550 and a 3-5 year old Westy and has NO issues.
