took the gixxer 600 to the drags last night, i ran a best of 11.37 @ 124.58 with a 1.958 60ft, the bike is completley stock, i wasnt doing a burnout just avoiding the water box, now i was wondering what your guys launch techniques were, and what rpm are you launching at?? i was slipping the clutch out at between 8-10grand and it felt real good, i made 7 passes and consistently went faster, the next time back the the track it will have a lowering link, how much do you think that will help??

It will help a bit. Start launching around 13-14.
Are you riding a wheelie out?

I usually launch around 8-9k and roll into it. It also varies on body weight. I am a buck 40 on a 82 gs 11e without a swing arm. I would highly recommend one if your going to drag, gives you more rpms in your launch and still keep the front end down. 600's also rev alot higher than the bigger cc m/c's. Also use the straps, they do help to, imo.

nope the front end stayed down never come up but im 6'2'' and about 175 so i can put a little weight over the front to keep it down

Lowering it does help on the straight line but robs you from leaning into turns on the road. I would call ricky out at the motorcycle shop of hwy 10. He can give you some good ideas and prices to. He is also a very mechanically inclined when it comes to m/c's, does excellent service wk.

I left once on my gs @ 10k on the strip and damn near took my breathe away. My gs came victorious against a nice suzuki 750 srad.
