well i sold my bike last year due to financial trouble and i have some money saved now and was looking at picking up a cheap bike. i was looking at a 99' honda shadow ace 750 for 3k it has 23k miles on it and its flawless. it has saddlebags, winshield and highway pegs. i dont know much about bikes and wondering if this is a decent one. i was aslo looking at a few late 90's honda magnas that were in really good shape.

what kind of bike did you have before? if you had bigger then a 750 that shadow is gonna feel GUTLESS. if you're an experienced rider i wouldnt recommend smaller then an 1100 for a cruiser.

well the first bike i had was this and it had an 80ci s&s but i only had it for about 3 months before i was forced to sell it. i leared how to ride on that bike. i know the 750 wont feel near as fast but its mainly going to be used for commuting. if i wanted something fast then i would get a sport bike. i just want something nice on the eyes and dependable.

id highly highly recommend at least an 1100.. something like a shadow 1100 or vstar 1100.. the vtx 13 or similiar would be better but at least you wouldnt feel like you went from a motorcycle to a bigwheel. im just sayin, i sold bikes for a living and i guarantee youd be selling that thing within a month for a bigger bike. it just doesnt have any getup and go.

i found a 97 honda shadow ace 1100 it has 34k on it and looks super clean. it would either be that or a 99 honda shadow ace 750 with 20k miles on it they are both the same price. which one woud you recommend? isn't 34k miles a lot for a bike?

I ride a 1600 and I can tell you it is a heavy bike. I love it but cannot figure out the facination with really big bikes. The 2000 would be rediculious. The 900 Vulcans would be plenty enough and you can get them decent. Or the 1100 your looking at would not be bad.

If the bike was has regular maint it will be fine. My boss has a Venture Royal with 90k on it and it runs perfect. HE is selling it if anyone is interested. Its an 87 and he bought it then cleaned it up and put a new seat on it and never rode it.
