I'm wanting to buy my first handgun, looking for an XD45 compact. I have already fired one and know this is what I want. What I'm wondering is do i need to do anything special when buying from a dealer and not a FTF sale?

would just prefer to go in prepared

Thanks

If you are buying online, just have the gun shipped to a FFL and you are set. If you are buying from a person, just make sure your FFL is cool with getting a gun shipped in by a non-FFL.

I know a good FFL in Euless if you need one.

At a store, you'll fill out one form and the store employee will make a phone call. They'll read out your stuff and they'll get a response within minutes. Just bring ID.

45 ammo is kinda hard to find, especially FMJ range ammo.

You can't go wrong with an XD though.

Understood sir. It'll be a fine firearm... it's super easy to field strip. The 40 4" I had never jammed on me once, with a few different brands of ammo.

Do it!
