So if you walk into your front yard with your hand gun NOT concealed, but you are still on your property, is this Legal or not? same with your back yard.. say you have it on your hip and your nosey neighbour sees you?
or can you only have it on you " in your house"

You'd have to make the argument that you're transporting it somewhere. I do know that you can get public intoxication on private property if you're in view of the public, so I would guess it would be the same with CHL? Really don't know though, good question.

I think it boils down to whether you're causing public alarm.

If you're on 100ac of property riding around on 4 wheelers. You're ok. Front yard of suburbia, who knows.

if its just on your hip you should be fine. i have done it several times. i believe it is only an issue if you are wielding it in an unsafe manner to the public

Legal but not advisable in the city. You'll cause your gun-fearing neighbors to freak out.

I've never taken pains to hide firearms while working around the property and never caught flack. At least once I talked with a constable who saw it and never said a word. Granted, we knew each other from back in the crazy neighbor days, but still never said a word...

Quoted because its correct. You can open carry on your own property both inside and outside. Its just not a great idea.
