Could one carry here, or no? Assuming there's not a legal 30.06 sign of course.
http://www.wildflowerfestival.net/content/EventInfo.html#Do%E2%80%99s%20and%20Don%E2%80%99ts :
Do’s and Don’ts: In the interest of public safety, please help us out by not bringing: coolers, picnic baskets, food, drinks, contraband, weapons, skateboards, roller blades, scooters, bikes, laser pointers, Frisbees, and professional camera equipment. "Professional camera equipment" is defined as any camera with a detachable lens.
Snacks and drinks for toddlers are allowed.
The festival does allow audio and video recorders, however, our entertainment contracts disallow audio and video recording within the designated concert zones.
Unauthorized sales, solicitations, and distributions are prohibited.
The backstage area is off-limits to the public.
Persons entering the site may be subject to search for any prohibited items. The facility reserves the right to refuse admission or eject any person violating the facility, local, state or federal laws or whose conduct is deemed illegal, disorderly, or offensive by management.
Does that serve as legal notice, since by buying a ticket you are agreeing to the rules, or does it not apply to CHL holders? Looks like after they search you, they can throw you out if they deem you "offensive," but I don't really know...

I believe unless a 30.06 is the only one you are prohibited there. If they search you they can ask you to leave though if they find your gun.

That's not sufficient notice. Carry anyway. They may ask to search any bags you have, but I've not heard of a pat down at this event.
Watch for signs when you get there.

You should be fine....

Here's the reply my friend and CHL instructor gave me:
Not written notice unless they get to the venue and see the 30.06 sign posted.
That is there for all the other crazies that try and get in with their switch blades etc, etc. You will actually see notes of this nature all over the place. State Fair for example. Can’t carry weapons there they wand you, look through your purse etc. Right up until you say I be’s a CHL an here be my lisens bro

Thanks guys. I don't quite have my CHL yet, but I'm trying to start paying attention to this stuff ahead of time so I know what to do when I do get it.

I've only run into a very small number of places where the correct signage was posted. So few in fact that I can count them on 1 hand.

So this doesnt count as some type of professional venue? You cant carry at places like Lone Star Park, the Rangers game, etc... does this not fall under the same thing?

Yes you can carry at the state fair, only place you cant go into in the stadium. I went packing and had no issues, I just showed them my CHL at the gate and I was told "enjoy your day"
Pulled from the Texas fair website
May I bring...
...a gun? No, with one exception.
A person holding a valid concealed handgun license is permitted to enter onto State Fair property with his/her concealed handgun. Licenses will be examined at the entrance by an authorized security supervisor. Handguns will not be permitted inside the Cotton Bowl, a facility defined under Texas Penal Code 46.035 as "the premises where a high school, collegiate or professional sporting event or interscholastic event is taking place." We want the Fair to be a fun and safe experience.

Nope, if I recall correctly it has to be a professional sporting event. But like was said earler, if they give you verbal notice than it is just as good as a 30.06. If they dont, carry away.

That has happened, its a risk you have to take. Just go to one that seems to be soft spoken.

I have only ran into a few places that have a proper 30.06 as well. I carry to tons of places that say no weapons allowed. If they search you though the worst they can do is ask you to leave.
