umm... NO. i regularly put 10-15k miles a year on my bikes, hell just going to the twisted sisters in south texas is like a 600 to 700 mile round trip. i put 20k miles on my old cbr in one year (only mode of transportation, rain or shine)

I put about 9k on mine last year, but only 3k the year before.
My dad puts 20k a year on his, but he's retired!
I don't think it's a lot. I have seen many Harley's with over 100k on them.

I thought 07 was a very low mileage year for me...I did 10.5K

I put 14K on the FZ1 the first year I had it. Over the last year I've just put 5300 on the gsxr and about 3K on the Vrod.

Considering that a Harley breaks down every 3-4K, yeah that's a lot :D

got mine at the same time as the Suzuki and both have been fine. :confused2: hell, the harley even has longer oil change intervals.

Yeah, I found it funny that ANYONE has EVER seen a Harley make it 100k miles!

it is because you said so?

miles on a bike is relative. you can have a 3000 mile bike that is a worthless piece of shit from being beat on so hard, or like me you can have a 28k mile 2004 that is in perfect shape cosmetically and mechanically. so to put it simply, its all about the condition of the bike. now sure there is outrageous use like 20k in a year i'd be wary about, but 8k is nothing.

It really just depends. My DWG is 9 years old and still has less than 30k miles. It shares DD duties with the Cobra. The bike in the summer, the car in the winter. The Cobra is 6 years old and just went over 31k miles. I don't commute much and not a lot of long road trips. Have fun no matter how much or often you ride.

mileage wouldnt bother me as much as maintenance or lack thereof would.

Recently read about a guy who put ONE MILLION miles on his '91 Road King.
I believe that works out to somewhere over 50K a year. My ass hurts just thinking about that.

Anyway, he showed up in Milwaukee, and Harley traded him a new 09 Road King for his. They're putting the million miler into a museum.
