Well I looking around for ammo today and about the only thing i could find was .22lr, so i decided that i would just get a 22 pistol and be able to get ammo and head to the range anytime I wanted and for cheap too. So i saw the new walther SP22 and decided to get one. Heard great review about them and the price was right, $300. Probably going to go out tomorrow and put a few hundred rounds through it.

Instructions sucked on how to disassemble but a couple of minutes and its rather simple to take apart.

Do yourself a favor and don't get the bulk pack stuff to run through it. Get the CCI Mini Mag or something comparable that has at least 1350 fps.

The lower powered bulk stuff doens't have enough ooomph to cycle the slide well, especially after a few hundred dirty rounds.

I'm using Winchester super x 1300fps. So far it's a really fun little gun to shoot and as cheap as the ammo is I don't feel bad about coming out and wasting a few hundred rounds. The little firing pin looking thing above the trigger is a trigger stop

If the climate stays the way it is, the only thing the boys and I will be shooting is the Marlin .22 rifles and the Sig Mosquito .22...

yeah, i like the p22, but i have rather large hands and didnt really like the feel of it. i will have to go grip them all again. mosquito, p22 and the sp22.

i certainly would mind hitting the range up, i need to sight in the little red dot on my 10//22.

god bless.

I like my P22. I've fired a few thousand rounds through it and have only had a couple issues (mostly due to poor loading technique from newbies that I'm showing how to use a weapon).

Since it has so little kick, it's a great gun to teach people with.

If you've got bigger hands, get the grip extensions (new the gun comes with two mags, one short, one extended). The extended makes the gun much easier to handle.

The P22 comes in a couple flavors. Mine is the short barrel in green :)
