Just a couple of observations.
1. The front sight looks like it's too far out on the rail and could fall off.
2. The bolt has forward assist machining, but there is no forward assist on the upper reciever???
3. Replace the stock POS pistol grip!

just an observation.... but who gives a shit about any of those.
why does everyone always gotta bitch about stock grips too. wtf is wrong with stock grips?
what does it NEED to do.... cradle your hand? give you a soft feel when you cuddle up late at night with it?
it's a fucking gun.:poke:

You can find ammo it just might not be as cheap as you would like. 7.62x39 is a lost cause unless its Monarch.

no, its just safe to assume he doesn't want it
i'd like a smooth upper someday

its a kind of a custom job but it's a dpms upper and lower with a 16" hbar barrel, a troy 13 inch rail, troy flip up sights, and an eotech sight

3. Replace the stock POS pistol grip!
1. the front sight is flush with the end of the rail...not going to fall off
2. My thoughts on forward assist is that if the shell is having trouble fitting into the chamber there must be some sort of debris or a deformity... if you have a casing that will not lock up into the chamber, then get it out of there rather than forcing it
3. i am looking into getting a different grip, ive never changed one before but with the weight of this rail i want to get something with a little more grip

1. I'm sure it's just the angle of the photo.
2. Since it's not a battle rife, that's fine. If your life depended on it, there isn't time to disassemble the rifle to get the round out.
3. There are several grips, I like the Hogue
Still no mention of who makes it????

DPMS used to have quality control issues back in the late 80's early 90's. They have since fixed the problem, but the stigma still remains. I haven't heard anything bad about them for the last decade.

Didn't know you could get an AR upper with no forward assist.. Looks unique in this configuration!
As for the grip; I have the standard plastic one, a Hogue Overmolded, and an Ergo on three different rifles. The standard grip is good if you shoot 100 or so rounds while sitting at the range bench. I prefer my Hogue and Ergo - they are comfortable, and you can shoot all day without blistering. FWIW - that small "gapper" between the grip and trigger gaurd is worth the $2-bucks. The Ergo came with one, and i have to admit, it works as advertisied. I used to get a blister on my middle finger after heavy fire, especially when standing & shooting.
Forward assit is part of the upper.

.
No forward assist really cleans up the rifle. I'm digging it a whole lot. I might look into getting one of those upper recievers.

Looks like a lot of fun. Wonder where the brass will go without the brass deflector on it. Not that it makes that big of a deal but you might end up dropping them on the guy to the right of you like those guys with pesky Ruger Mini-14s.
Does the barrell have a flash suppressor, may be my monitor but looks like a smooth barrell end.
I do like the clean lines of it.

I'm guessing the brass will go right by the shooter's right shoulder without that deflector.
The end of the barrel looks like it is machined down a tad the last 1/2" or so.

It's probably close to 1" diameter under the handguards.

Accuracy...that along with the lack of a forward assist leads me to believe this was built primarily to be a bench rest range queen rather than a practical AR that you would actually carry out in the field anywhere.
I bet it shoots nice though.
