i havent researched it yet, but here's what he told me:

#1
the military shoots only virgin brass (they don't reload spent rounds), but they sell them to people that reload them and we buy them, which keeps the cost of ammunition down. well, from what i was told, obama has stopped this practice. now, the military is required to sell the spent brass as scrap only; it's not to be sold to anyone that will reload them. the military receives far less for this practice and it keeps the cost of ammunition higher, which will force people to buy less, etc.

#2
the military sells ammunition cans to businesses that re-sell those cans to individuals for fairly cheap. obama doesn't like this practice, so now they are forced to also sell these as scrap for far less than what they would receive by selling them to businesses that resell them. apparently the reason is that obama doesn't want people stock-piling ammunition.

the reason that i was even talking about this stuff is because i have a friend that has been waiting on a gun transfer (full-auto) for several months now and there seems to be no end in sight. what used to take 6-8 weeks is now taking considerably longer. apparently there are a lot of people doing gun transfers right now, so some of the time is understandable, but it's starting to get ridiculous. there are apparently some rumors floating around that obama is trying to make gun transfers take so long that people will decide that it's just not worth it to purchase these guns. anyway, i am going to do some searches on the two items above, but have any of you heard about this?

btw, when i say "obama", i mean "the obama administration"...

I heard that they changed their minds and are selling them still.

Here's a post from The Armory.

No fucking surprise there. I knew they would start to go after their ultimate goals at a side angle, then most people won't notice what they're doing. This is exactly how they do EVERYTHING. Sneaky fucking weasels.
