If you have a connection to the internet to connect the wireless router to (wired), then yes... else you might need a wireless bridge. Or you can get the wireless adapter for the xbox to pick up your wireless signal if it needs to be away from the xbox...

It is possible to make the Linksys WRT54G act as a bridge if you have a wireless router and internet connection elsewhere in the house...

Don't think the WRT will do so - the WAP54G can be a bridge or repeater though.

Sure it can... just have to download some different firmware and it is a pita to setup... I have done it before.

I have no idea how you are connected to the u-verse... If it is wired, then you would need a wireless router in the living room that you could bridge to. Or just run a long network cable from a switch/hub from the living room to the xbox...

kind of hard to give you a good solution without knowing what all you have connection-wise... Sorry.

If you have U-verse you can just plug into the back of any of the cable boxes. I have my Xbox plugged into the back of cable box in the living room.

U-verse has Ethernet plug-in on the back of all there cable boxes.

That is cool.... If he has a cable box next to the tv the xbox is plugged in he should be good. If not, can you plug a wireless router into the back of the cable box and let it route your packets?

Fair enough. I made the assumption that was not an option for the OP and it was not otherwise mentioned.

Well that is why I did not go into detail about it... heh.
