Nick you were right. this is some hard as clear coat.

in my previos thread i was able to get some scracthes from this

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d133/jaypee1217/100_2797.jpg

most of the scratches on the vette i thought were lighter and not as deep. i used the same technique i did on the Caprice and couldnt get them out.

really pissed me off.

anyways, here are some pics. this is my brother's Z0h.

Yeah, that Vette paint is hard as nails! I see that a lot of the swirls didn't come out. What products did you use?

The fiberglass used to be the paint issue many years ago. It just wouldn't lay out like it would on metal. LMAO at a Ford owner dogging GM paint!:wiggle:

The paint on the $26k mustang GT in my driveway is better quality than the paint on that $60k+ Z06. It does not have near the bad of orange peel.... no where near!

That's great! I've owned many, many Fords and most of them had shit for paint.

I think it depends on the color of paint! I have a 95 Mustang that is green and the paint still looks good, most of it is factory. My brother has a 95 mustang that is red, it fades like no other! I dont see any red corvettes that have the common problem like the 94-98 darker red color.

Although my '08 F350 is the best running truck I've ever owned, the paint quality is absolutely horrible. In fact, the dealership had to repaint the hood, fenders, and tailgate when it was new because they had cleared over bare metal in some places (no basecoat!).

It's still embarrassing.

Now my GT500...the best factory paint I've ever seen on a production Ford vehicle.

Go figure.

Its sonic blue, and looks great.

But yall should see how soft the paint is on the expedition... oh my God... you can scratch it using QD and a MF. Kind of like that car that Nick did... (Which he did an amazing job on!)

your right... the paint on those diesels = gross!

(I wasn't comparing a Vette to a Ford truck! I was comparing a Mustang to a Vette)

Tell that to my cousin when the paint literally starting stripping off the hood of her mustang.

Comparing a mustang to a vette? IS there a comparison? There's an hour long show on the assembly of the C6 ZO-6's, I think on discovery that comes on every once in a while. Check it out and tell me if you think that every mustang that gets painted in the factory goes through the same process.

Remember...some of those Ford trucks cost as much (or more) than a Vette...
