Range Day in April GTG

Range day April 10th or April 19th


I am coming home for an R&R on April 9th and looking to put some rounds down range, pistol and rifle. Is anyone interested in a range get together on either Friday the 10th or Sunday 19th.

I have not met any of you clowns so figure this would be a good chance to get to know some of you.

Not settled on the range but Alpine works well for me. I am open to suggestions.

I need to test fire a handfull or ARs and BZO them and generally have a good time punching paper. Maybe hit Hooters for some chow afterwards, when we smell like gun powder and solvent.

Bring some .223 and you can shoot as much as you want. They are plane jane 16" A2 builds though. I wanted a universal gun easy to use for the armory *cough *cough I mean for an investment.

I plan on bringing out the .308 long gun, 5 ARs, a couple 9mm and some .45 pistolas. If my Mossberg 930 12ga come in I will need to put some rounds thru them also.

I got stopped by a county sheriff going to the river one day. I had a friend with me and he had some Class III stuff along with the 10 or so mix of guns I had.

He stopped us saying there had been some burglaries in the area and he wanted to check us out. I asked him if the suspect vehicle was a white 1977 Chevy K20 with a 4" lift and 33" Swamper Boggers and a home made cattle guard up front. He knew where I was going (because my truck kinda stands out) and he said "no, I've just never seen you or your truck before around here."

The funny thing is that everyone knows my truck as "the cracker" because it's white.

I will look a little ragged unless the wife makes me shave off my 4 month growth of Afghan beard when I get home. Don't need to pop up on the headlines, "33yr old male from Afghanistan traveling with machine guns and lots of bad bad bullets was stopped by Arlington police today"

I won't have my class III stamps in time or I would be able to bring out a couple suppressors too.

Depending on weather, i'd be in on this. Don't have much to offer gun wise, but i can help in spotting. And i'd like to hit a rifle range that is over 100 yrds.

Just ball bustin, they will get cleaned at the house anyways. Sure you can bust some off.

Gibsons is off Lawson rd in mesquite. The nearest hooters is at Town East.

Gibsons allows FMJ, Alpine doesnt.

Gibsons absolutely doesnt do shotguns.

Im in Denton and will be leaving here about 10 o'clock, now it's just a matter if I make it to the range.

Well I finally mabout ade it there around 10:30 and got everything out of the truck and set up. I sat down and got 5 rounds down range then the wife called. I dropped her at work this morning and they were cutting her loose early today.:damnit1: I had to drive an hour and a half back to get her.

Looks like Gibsons if entirely too far out for me. Gonna have to be Alpine next.

Good news is I tested out one of my CMMG/Del-Ton kits. First 5 rounds were right on paper at 50yrds and only needed a few clicks of windage to center the group. I ended up getting 20 rounds out of it before leaving.
