I suggest a camera system that you can watch over the internet.

You can also configure it as an 'alarm' .. So if someone breaks into your pad while you're gone, it will send a msg to your phone along with footage.

I sit here all day at work watching my full camera system at my house :)

What kind of cameras are you using?

I have some VIVOTEk cameras that we had @ our old office and I am wanting to use them @ home to monitor when no one is home. How are they hooked up on a network? Do you have to have a separate router for just the cameras?

& Im not sure of the model for the other one.

I'm using analog cameras, tho i do have a couple of them on an IP adapter for testing.

You will use your router that you already have, no special one is needed. It looks like that unit has a software package that will find the camera, regardless if it's on a different network or not. With the software you can go in and configure the camera and tailor the network settings to your network.

Then you can view the camera VIA internet explorer, or some type of NVR (network video recorder) software

let me know if you need any help with it
